The gang decide to settle down for a picnic, and {{Ash}} takes the opportunity to introduce his newly-evolved {{AP|Grovyle}} to his other Pokémon. While {{AP|Taillow}} and {{AP|Torkoal}} are happy to have him on the team, {{AP|Corphish}} becomes worried that Ash will now favor Grovyle over the others given it’s higher stage, especially when Grovyle manages to get fruit off a tree easily with just [[m|Leaf Blade]] and fend off a {{TRT}} attack. After this Grovyle receives praise from everybody except Corphish. Ash notices Corphish is not congratulating Grovyle, and {{an|May}} and {{an|Brock}} wonder if Corphish is mad at Grovyle because it is hungry, so they decide to take a lunch break. However, their lunch is interrupted by a {{p|Ludicolo}} and it’s bongo-playing trainer, who challenge Ash to a match. Ash decides that, since Corphish looks desperate for a battle, he should let it. However things don’t go well and {{AP|Corphish}} is easily beaten, which makes it feel worse and causes it to run off. While walking through the forest, Corphish finds the Ludicolo and its trainer, but when Team Rocket attempt to capture the two, it’s up to Corphish to save the day!
