'''Lunatone''' ([[List of Japanese Pokémon names|Japanese]]: '''ルナトーン''' ''Lunatone'') is a dual-type {{2t|Rock|Psychic}} Pokémon.

It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.

==Biology==
===Physiology===
Lunatone is a Pokémon that originally came from space. They originally came to earth within meteorites and have since adapted to life on earth quite nicely. Being an inorganic Pokémon, it isn't preyed upon, nor does it need to prey on others, as it derives all its energy from moonlight. It uses telekinesis to float in mid-air and is capable of reading the thoughts of other lifeforms like most psychic types. It is even capable of brainwashing, but only does this when it feels threatened and is usually a last resort.

====Gender differences====
Lunatone is genderless.

===Special abilities===
Lunatone's ability, {{a|Levitate}}, allows it to avoid {{type2|Ground}} moves such as {{m|Earthquake}} or {{m|Magnitude}}. Its red eyes also fill the onlooker with fear.

===Behavior===
Lunatone's power and health seems to be tied directly to the {{wp|Lunar phase|phases of the moon}}. When there is a full moon, Lunatone is at the peak of its strength. Presumably when there is a new moon, Lunatone is defenseless. It is capable of reading the minds of other lifeforms.

===Habitat===
[[Image:Cave.gif|right|frame|[[List of Pokémon by habitat#Cave Pokémon|Cave Pokémon]]]]
Lunatone seems to prefer caves.

===Diet===
{{main|Pokémon food}}

This Pokémon has no need to feed since it derives all it's energy from moonlight.

==In the anime==
[[Image:SolidasaSolrock.jpg|thumb|right|Liza's Lunatone and Tate's {{p|Solrock}}]]
Lunatone first appeared in ''[[AG087|Crazy as a Lunatone]]''. A pair of thieves calling themselves the [[PMC]] was after it due to wanting to get their hands on another outer-space Pokémon.

[[Tate and Liza|Liza]] and her Lunatone debuted in ''[[AG099|It's Still Rocket Roll to Me]]'' along [[Tate and Liza|Tate]] and her {{p|Solrock}}. [[Ash Ketchum]]'s Gym battle against Tate and Liza and their Meteorite Pokémon was in the [[AG100|following episode]].
==Trivia==
*Lunatone shares the same [[species]] name with its counterpart {{p|Solrock}}. They are both known as Meteorite Pokémon.
*Lunatone is the only Pokémon that can learn {{m|Ice Beam}} and {{m|Blizzard}}, but cannot learn {{m|Icy Wind}}.
**Lunatone cannot learn Blizzard in Gen {{Gen|III}}.
*Lunatone's pupils were small slits in its R/S/E and FR/LG sprites, but in D/P, the pupils are slightly more open.
*In the "[[Items]]" section of the DP Official Guide Book, Lunatone's name is misspelled as Lunastone.
*Despite being a moon-like [[Pokémon]], and what was shown in [[AG087]], Lunatone cannot learn {{m|Moonlight}}.
*Without its ability, this Pokémon and its counterpart {{p|Solrock}} are the only Pokémon that have seven weaknesses and are not partially {{type2|Grass}} or doubly weak/resistant to anything. Other Pokémon that have seven weaknesses include {{p|Celebi}}, {{p|Exeggcute}}, {{p|Exeggutor}}, {{p|Snover}} and {{p|Abomasnow}}.
*Its Generation IV sprite look more yellow than its Generation III and Sugimori art work.

===Origin===
Lunatone is based on a {{wp|meteorite}} shaped like a crescent {{wp|moon}}.

====Name origin====
Lunatone's name is a combination of the {{wp|Latin}} ''luna'', meaning moon, and ''stone''.

==About Myself==
[[Image:Timot - Thille.png|thumb|A [[wp:Lolita fashion|Sweet Lolita]] I drew in [[wp:Super deformed|chibi]].]] Hello, I'm '''Tye King (タイ国王)''' and a big fan of Pokemon, I've first got into it when my mum got me [[game|Pokémon blue]] for my birthday when I was 6. I'm a 13 year old guy, and I live in {{wp|England}}. I had one game from every [[generation]] so far. I'm not a big fan of the [[anime]] now because it fall into the same plot every time, I love the movies though there the only good thing about the [[anime]] series.

I'm a big fan of alot of things, most of them are from [[Nintendo]] or {{wp|Japan}}. I love things that are {{wp|Kawaii}}, so I try to draw that way to. I mostly draw in [[wp:Super deformed|chibi]] style because I suck at anatomy. I love the game series {{wp|Animal Crossing}} to, and dress my character in cute clothes and sometimes I put him in cosplay outfits.

some of my favorite animes include [[wp:Lucky star (anime)|Lucky ☆ Star]], {{wp|Higurashi no Naku Koro ni}}, {{wp|Hetalia: Axis Powers}} and {{wp|Sailor Moon}}.

==Pokémon==
My [[team]] will often win over cuteness that power, I realy do judge Pokémon on there looks rather then there power, to be honest I don't even get [[EVs]].

===Favorite Pokémon===
*'''[[Cherrim]]''', I love [[Cherrim]] its so adorable, if it wasn't for its overcast form.
*'''[[Froslass]]''', back in [[generation III]] I liked [[Snorunt]], but hated [[Glalie]] and the [[Froslass]] came along, I loved her stright away.
*'''[[Gallade]]''', I love [[Gallade]] and all of it [[evolution]] family, but [[Shiny]] [[Gallade]]s, are just amazing.
*'''[[Lopunny]]''', are so cute, [[Shiny]] [[Lopunny]] are even cuter.
* {{u|Tyetyez}}

===Structure===
====Title====
All articles should be known as 'Shipping:{name}Shipping' and a page, '{name}Shipping' should be created with only the template <nowiki>{{Shipping redirect}}</nowiki>. There is no need to put <nowiki>{{Shipping redirect|PAGENAME}}</nowiki> because the template has that covered.

Also, at the start of each article in the Shipping namespace you should add a [[Template:Ship|<nowiki>{{ship}}</nowiki>]] template so as to warn people.

If the article is a stub, use the template mentioned below.

====Evidence Content====
The manual of style for all Shipping pages are going to follow a set structure, henceforth. All Shipping pages are, from here on in, either going to go through a major overhaul, or will be using this style from the get-go. Style should be:

<nowiki>
* ''[[DP001|TITLE]]''
: Hint that such-and-such may overgrossly perhaps CARE for the cretin.
* ''[[DP038|TITLE]]''
: Hint that such-and-such may want to have the cretin's children.
: Oh wait, new paragraph if the above one hint carries on for too long! Possibly still talking about them having children!
* ''[[DP099|TITLE]]''
: Hint that such-and-such may like a second honeymoon with the cretin. Oh look, another hint that shouldn't in a new paragraph because both are only a sentence long.
</nowiki>

However best this information is catelogued is at your own discretion (in individual person's sections, or if their intereactions are heavily interlaced, go simply for one list that contains them both), but please remain concise and neat.

====Categorize====
All articles are to be properly categorized according to character involvement and in this order of descending, applicable labels:
<nowiki>
[[Shipping|PAGENAME]]
[[Anime|PAGENAME]]
[[Game (whichever one they come from OR if they are a cross-gen 'ship)|PAGENAME]]
[[Manga|PAGENAME]]
[[OLDER male character]]
[[YOUNGER male character]]
[[OLDER female character]]
[[YOUNGER female character]]
[[Gym Leaders]]
[[Orange Crew]]**
[[E4 members]]
[[Frontier Brain]]
[[Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua/Galactic]]**
[[Movie character]]**
[[Pokémon]]</nowiki>

If you cannot tell who is older when dealing with homosexual Ships, then likely no one else can and it doesn't matter the order. No individual Pokémon is to have their own category, not even {{AP|Pikachu}}. If the character is not important (a movie character of any level, a COTD), they should not have their own category. If you think they should, ask {{u|ArcToraphim}} first and state WHY you think they should have a category.

If a character falls under of the categories between ''Gym Leaders'' and ''Pokémon'', they do not get their own category without a convincing argument or enough Ships to require one.

If one is from the game and another is from the anime, we'll cross that bridge later. If they can cover two mediums legitimately, please list them in corresponding order.

If Brock or Misty are involved and the other involved isn't one, it is ''not'' necessary to add the ''Gym Leader'' category. If Jessie or James are involved, it is ''not'' necessary to add the ''Team Rocket'' category (Meowth and Giovanni do, as they to not have their own categories). Treat Wallace as a ''Gym Leader'', not an ''Elite Four'' member.

====Further Notes====
''Nevermetshippings'' should be labeled accordingly, such as [[OysterShipping]], [[RubyShipping]], [[OutcryShipping]], et cetra. Until they do meet, there will be no "hints", but "similarity" sections are allowed, as are reasons why people Ship them in the first place. However, please do not add bias information; no nevermet Ship has risen to the popularity of the others, so they do not rival ''anything'' within the fandom's top tier.

Nonrecurring Ships, such as [[LuckShipping]], [[DanceShipping]], [[AbilityShipping]], [[FireShipping]], where the person does not, or has not, thusly return after the heroes move on (regardless how many episodes that character was around for), should be analyzed to the nth degree (but not written be-all-end-all). Please use [[GaiaShipping]] as an example of how to handle those sorts of circumstances.

:'''Note''': [[TeenCareShipping]] is not to be handled as a nonrecurring Ship just yet, in the off-chance Holly does return. Please keep this in mind and make reserved judgment calls on the likeliness of a character returning or not in future Ships and articles (though it's understood there is a fallacy here, considering [[Nicholai]] randomly returned early in Hoenn, as did [[Aya]] from Kanto to Johto).

Please also do not assume that a standard for one carries over as a standard for another. This concerns the "Alternate name" business. If you've seen it with our own eyes, you may document it, UNLESS it's another Ship name that isn't on the list (the only current exception to this is "FarawayShipping" to OutcryShipping).

===Goals===
# Write comprehensive and upstanding articles on Ships.
##This means they are to be substantial, well written (even if they are short articles), and with substance.
# Ensure that all hints/evidence/facts are in the originating media and not from fanfiction. All fanon information is to be eliminated.
##All given hints/evidence/facts should also be meaningful and not tossed in there because it made the Shipper in you go squee.
Some Bulbapedia members have formed a [[Bulbapedia:Project|project]] to better organise efforts to write and improve articles about '''Shipping'''. If you would like to help, please inquire on the [[{{NAMESPACE}} talk:{{PAGENAME}}|talk page]] or the [http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/forumdisplay.php?f=195 Bulbapedia forum] and see the [[Bulbapedia:Project Shipping/To-do list]].

==Project Shipping==
===Scope and aims===
Project Shipping covers all articles about Shipping. When developing new pages or adding to old ones, adhere to this: [[Bulbapedia:Shipping]] for guidance on content.
===Structure===
====Title====

====Evidence Content====
The manual of style for all Shipping pages are going to follow a set structure, henceforth. All Shipping pages are, from here on in, either going to go through a major overhaul, or will be using this style from the get-go. Style should be:

<nowiki>
* ''[[DP001|TITLE]]''
: Hint that such-and-such may overgrossly perhaps CARE for the cretin.
* ''[[DP038|TITLE]]''
: Hint that such-and-such may want to have the cretin's children.
: Oh wait, new paragraph if the above one hint carries on for too long! Possibly still talking about them having children!
* ''[[DP099|TITLE]]''
: Hint that such-and-such may like a second honeymoon with the cretin. Oh look, another hint that shouldn't in a new paragraph because both are only a sentence long.
</nowiki>

However best this information is catelogued is at your own discretion (in individual person's sections, or if their intereactions are heavily interlaced, go simply for one list that contains them both), but please remain concise and neat.

====Categorize====
All articles are to be properly categorized according to character involvement and in this order of descending, applicable labels:
<nowiki>

====Further Notes====

===Goals===
The '''Johto region''' (Japanese: '''ジョウト地方''' ''Jōto-chihō'') is a large area located west of [[Kanto]]. Johto and Kanto are part of a large landmass, with everything west of [[Indigo Plateau]] falling in the Johto region.

First explored in {{game|Gold and Silver|s}}, it is home to an additional 100 [[Pokémon]] that were not present in [[Generation I|previous games]]. In the [[Generation II]] games, players begin their journey in [[New Bark Town]], where [[Professor Elm]] offers either {{p|Chikorita}}, {{p|Cyndaquil}} or {{p|Totodile}} to beginning [[Pokémon Trainer]]s. The names of most of the cities in Johto are also the names of plants or things related to plants.

==Geography==
The geography of Johto is much like that of Kanto. It is marked by a mountain range in the north and a vast sea to the south.
===Locations===
====Cities/Towns====
* [[New Bark Town]]
* [[Cherrygrove City]]
* [[Violet City]]
* [[Cianwood City]]
* [[Mahogany Town]]
* [[Blackthorn City]]

====Areas of interest====
* [[Dark Cave]]
* [[Sprout Tower]]
* [[Ruins of Alph]]
* [[Union Cave]]
* [[Indigo Plateau]] (actually in Kanto)
* {{jo|Battle Tower}} (Crystal only)

====Routes====
Johto's routes are numbered {{rtn|29}}-{{rtn|46}}, starting at the route number that Kanto (in [[Generation II]]) left off from, {{rtn|28}}. Route 28 itself actually partially stretches into Johto, though is known as Silver Cave when in Johto.

==League==
{{main|Johto League}}

The Johto League is the regional [[Pokémon League]] of the Johto region. Johto and Kanto share a single [[Elite Four]], located at the Indigo Plateau. Eight Johto League [[Badge]]s are required to participate in [[Pokémon League#Types of competitions|League competitions]].
==Culture==
===History===
After Johto was created, alongside [[Kanto]], by {{p|Groudon}} and {{p|Kyogre}} at the beginning of the {{pkmn|universe}}, Pokémon no one had seen before began inhabiting the region. 1500 years before [[Generation I]], the earliest known system for writing is developed and used at the [[Ruins of Alph]] of Johto. Archaeologists are currently unsure whether the nearly identical {{p|Unown}} preceded or succeeded the English alphabet, but it is assumed they share some sort of connection. Approximately 700 years ago, [[Tin Tower]] and [[Brass Tower]] are constructed in [[Ecruteak City]], and {{p|Lugia}} and {{p|Ho-Oh}} perch at their tops. It lived on for another 550 years before [[Brass Tower]] burns to the ground, killing three Pokémon inside. Lugia flees to the [[Whirl Islands]], Ho-Oh resurrects the three as the [[legendary beasts]] and flies off in search of a pure-hearted [[Pokémon Trainer|Trainer]].

===Connection to Japan===
{{main|Pokémon world in relation to the real world}}

Regardless of their proximity, the people of Johto and those of Kanto are set apart by many cultural differences. Johto is based on the real {{wp|Kansai region}} in Japan. This trait is most noticeable in its geography; however, the Kansai influence also defines the culture in Johto. Kansai residents are known for their attitudes against typical Japanese standards, mostly due to the historical rivalry between the region, once the major seat of political power, and the real {{wp|Kantō region}} where Tokyo, the current capital, is located. The soil of the Kansai region is rich, unlike the volcanic Kantō region, and this is perhaps referenced by the in-game Kanto region's inability to maintain a [[berry]] crop in [[Generation II]] and [[Generation III]]. People from Kansai are considered to be more relaxed. Kansai and Kantō, however different, are the two most important areas of Honshū, the largest island in Japan, and, much like Johto and Kanto, represent a harmony of contrasting cultures living together. The cultural divide is most noticeable in the games, as the player talks to and learns about the denizens of both regions.

Certain cultural aspects of the Johto region are deep-seated in Japanese history, as well. Kyoto, which is probably the basis for Ecruteak City, is considered the cultural center of Japan. Kyoto and its many historical temples, shrines, palaces, gardens and architecture have been preserved. This connection to history is reflected in many areas of Johto. However, Goldenrod City (like Osaka) is typically modern.

==Remake==
===Remake speculation===
{{main|Pokémon Gold and Silver remake speculation}}
[[Image:ChikoritaJohto2.PNG|thumb|right|From Johto]]
Before the announcement of {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}, many had speculated a remake of Gold and Silver since the release of {{game|FireRed and LeafGreen|s}} in 2004. In the [[Generation IV]] games, location pointer data (for a [[captured Pokémon]]'s status screen) includes a reference to ''Johto'', much like it does for [[Kanto]] and [[Hoenn]] when a Pokémon is transferred forward from [[Generation III]]. This left programmers the opportunity to see Johto make an appearance in [[Pokémon Gold and Silver remake speculation|future games]] compatible with {{3v2|Diamond|Pearl|Platinum}}.

===In Generation IV===
{{main|Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions}}

In {{game|HeartGold and SoulSilver|s}}, it has been confirmed that Johto will be location of the game, in which the player must explore. Most of the region has been redesigned, with some alterations in respect to the improved graphics and gameplay. Areas such as the [[Slowpoke Well]], [[Azalea Town]], and the [[Sprout Tower]], have been shown to be included within the game with different aesthetic aspects changing from previous generations to show 3D depth similar to {{3v2|Diamond|Pearl|Platinum}}.

Much like {{game|FireRed and LeafGreen|s}} revisited the [[Generation I]] story of [[Kanto]], HeartGold and SoulSilver will revisit the story of Johto, with the player's starting area being [[New Bark Town]]. As there are no definitive details about the games yet, it is currently unknown whether or not changes to the plot and course of the original games will be made. What is currently known, however, is that the geography of New Bark Town, while updated, has not changed. The player's [[rival]], {{ga|Silver}}, lurks outside of [[Professor Elm]]'s lab as he did in Generation II.

==Trivia==
*Johto is the only main region in which {{p|Pikachu}} is not found in the wild, though Pikachu are available in [[Generation II]] when the player travels to [[Kanto]] later in the game.
*It is the only region in which [[Ash Ketchum]] did not meet a new {{ashfr|traveling companion}}.
*Johto is the only region without:
**a cycling road
**a Pokémon burial ground
**a Safari Zone
**its own Victory Road
**an autonomous [[Pokémon League]] (shared with Kanto)
**a regional Pokédex (the [[Johto Dex]] included all Pokémon known as of Generation II)
**its own storage system developer (Bill also developed that of Kanto)
**its own villainous team (Team Rocket is shared with Kanto)
*This lack is mostly due to the fact that Generation II is very dependent on [[Generation I]], and as the latter half of the game's storyline takes place in Kanto, there was no need to repeat many things.
*Johto is the only region where the first Gym doesn't specialize in {{type2|Rock}}s.
*Johto is the only region that dosn't have a feline based Pokeémon.
'''Berries''' (Japanese: '''きのみ''' ''Berry'') are small, juicy, fleshy fruit. Many different kinds grow in the [[Pokémon world]] — particularly in [[Johto]], [[Hoenn]], and [[Sinnoh]].

==History==
Berries were first introduced in {{game|Gold and Silver|s}}. The {{player}} could give their [[Pokémon]] [[item]]s to hold that could affect {{pkmn|battle}}s. However, Pokémon cannot use [[Potion]]s to restore themselves in battle. The reasoning behind this is that they don't know how to operate human-made things.

Berries, on the other hand, can be used by Pokémon. A Pokémon will automatically use a Berry in battle once its status changes, or its {{stat|HP}} drops below a certain point - the activation of the Berry varies among them.

===Generation II===
In the Generation II games, Berries were very limited in their availability, as they could be picked from trees only once daily, and a new one would not grow back until midnight of the next day. Their use was not much different, with all ten having in-battle effects.

===Generation III===
In {{game|Ruby and Sapphire|s}}, a greater number of new Berries were introduced, replacing the first ten Berries of [[Generation II]] in name, but with little to no difference in function. In addition to the battle-use Berries, some of the new ones introduced were stat enhancers, functioning similarly to [[Battle Item]]s, such as {{DL|Battle item|X Attack}}. However, many had no further use beyond making [[Pokéblock]]s for contests. In much the same way many Pokémon resemble real world animals, these Berries also resembled real world fruit. So, in keeping with their real world counterparts, they were given unique attributes, as noted on their tags.

In addition, harvesting of Berries was also greatly changed in [[Generation III]]. They no longer grew regularly in certain places - rather, picking a set of Berries uprooted the plant. Berries had to be replanted in [[loamy soil]] for them to grow, and only when watered once per stage can they grow the maximum possible number of Berries. Many species of Berry also were given varied growing times, ranging from four hours to four days.

Unlike in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, which are set in [[Hoenn]], Generation III games {{game|FireRed and LeafGreen|s}}, [[Pokémon Colosseum]], and {{Pokémon XD}} are set in [[Kanto]] for the former two and [[Orre]] for the latter two. Like in [[Generation I]], Kanto has no loamy soil, meaning no Berries can be grown in-game. Just the same, FireRed and LeafGreen lack an in-game clock, which keeps track of planted Berries' growth. Orre lacks these as well, perhaps due to the fact that it would be too difficult to have programmed into the game with everything else. Thus, the only way to get Berries in these games is to find them, steal them from wild and opponents' Pokémon, or transfer them over from a Hoenn-based game held by a Pokémon being traded. The {{a|Pickup}} ability will allow a Pokémon to randomly find Berries, and [[Kin Island]]'s [[Berry Forest]] is one of locations where Berries can be found randomly. In addition, in FireRed and LeafGreen, Berries can be found either via the Itemfinder or by pressing A on tiles where a green zig-zagged "shadow" appears in the grass. Not all of these tiles contain Berries, but many of them hide basic HP- and Status-recovery Berries such as the Oran and Chesto varieties. Interestingly enough, despite the rarities of some berries, all of them are still able to be sold for only {{PDollar}}10.

====Use out of battle====
Unlike in Generation II, many Generation III Berries were able to be used for things other than being held by a Pokémon for use in a pinch. Specifically, in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, players could [[Berry blender|blend]] their Berries together with NPCs or other players to make [[Pokéblock]]s to increase a Pokémon's [[Contest category|condition]]. The resulting Pokéblock would depend on the flavors of the Berries that went into the blender.

Six of the Berries introduced in Ruby and Sapphire were given different effects in {{game|Emerald}}. Instead of being merely a Pokéblock ingredient, in Emerald the {{b2|Pomeg}}, {{b2|Kelpsy}}, {{b2|Qualot}}, {{b2|Hondew}}, {{b2|Grepa}}, and [[Tamato Berry|Tamato Berries]] were able to lower [[effort values]] gained by a Pokémon in HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed, respectively, and raise its [[happiness]].

===Generation IV===
In Generation IV, the main set of Berries remained the same, however several more were added, this time ones that would act like a reverse [[type-enhancing item]], powering down an opponent's {{DL|Damage modification|super effective}} move when it hit (effectively reducing damage by 50% for that hit). Several Berries' growth times also changed, most notably that of the Tamato Berry, which was to make it grow in the same amount of time as the other EV Berries instead of Berries of a similar flavor. Instead of blending Berries now, they could be cooked together to make [[Poffin]]. Many Berries are also able to grow many more fruits than in Generation III, with a maximum of 15 Berries able to be harvested per plant.

In addition, many Berries could be traded for [[Accessory|Accessories]], making it so that none of them have no use besides Poffin-making.

==Growing Berries==
Berries can be planted in designated soil patches scattered all over [[Hoenn]] and [[Sinnoh]]. These are the same patches that originally already had Berries growing in them. To grow Berries, one would need a berry to plant, a [[Sprayduck|watering pot]], and a vacant soil patch. A planted Berry will develop through three stages before producing berries: sprouting, growing taller, and flowering. A Berry can take between 12 and 96 hours to grow to a fully matured plant, depending on the Berry's rarity. A fully grown berry will produce anywhere from 1 to 15 berries, depending on the type of Berry and the frequency of watering. Most Berry plants typically produce 2-5 Berries. The frequency of watering can have a significant impact on the number of berries produced; the plant must be watered at least once per growth stage to keep the soil moist.

In [[Generation IV]], one can spread [[mulch]] prior to planting a Berry in order to speed up or slow down the growing process.

===Generation IV===
Generation IV shared its main Berry set with [[Generation III]], but added a few more not found in [[Hoenn]], which have additional in-battle effects. Additionally, all of the additions Pokémon Emerald made to their functionality were retained. All Berries can be used to make Poffin, however, those that have no other, in-battle, effect are used only for planting, harvesting, and Poffin-making. Some Berries that appeared in Generation III also had their growth times altered slightly.
==Trivia==
* In numerical order, Farfetch'd is the first Pokémon in the [[National Pokédex]] that does not have an [[List of Pokémon by evolution family|evolution family]]. It is also one of several remaining {{cat|Generation I Pokémon}}, excluding legendaries, that does not evolve into or from something in later generations, along with {{p|Kangaskhan}}, {{p|Pinsir}}, {{p|Tauros}}, {{p|Lapras}}, {{p|Ditto}}, and {{p|Aerodactyl}}.
* Only the [[Generation IV]] and Red/Green frontal sprites show Farfetch'd holding its stick in its wing. The other sprites show it holding its stick with its beak.
* Farfetch'd used to have stripes on its wings before Generation IV, altough this could be an shine.
* Farfetch'd can learn {{m|Fury Cutter}} by level up in [[Generation III]], but it is incompatible with the Generation III [[move tutor]] that teaches the same move. It can, however, learn it through a move tutor in {{v2|Platinum}}.
* Farfetch'd is the only Pokémon with an apostrophe in its name.
* Despite always holding its leek, it does not learn {{m|Fling}} or {{m|Baton Pass}}.
* Farfetch'd is so far the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 352.

===Origin===
Farfetch'd's origin might come from legends of a duck that carries a leek coming to lost and starving travelers in forests, offering itself to be eaten.

====Name origin====
Farfetch'd's name comes from the word ''farfetched'', which means unbelievable. It could also refer to the game of {{wp|fetch}}, which animals play using sticks. Its Japanese name is a combination of 鴨 ''kamo'', {{wp|wild duck}}, and 葱 ''negi'', {{wp|spring onion}}. Additionally, 鴨葱 ''kamonegi'' is an abbreviation of 鴨が葱をしょって来る, a duck comes bearing spring onions.
