The '''Vs. Recorder''' (Japanese: '''バトルレコーダー''' ''Battle Recorder'') is a [[key item]] exclusive to {{game|Platinum}}.

The Vs. Recorder can record and replay a player's battles, similarly to the {{ga|Trainer card|Frontier Pass}}'s Battle Record, and send them over Nintendo Wi-Fi at the new and improved [[Global Trade Station]] in [[Jubilife City]]. It can also take pictures of the player's boxes. It can only record Wi-Fi, wireless, and {{si|Battle Frontier}} battles. It is given to the player by [[Handsome]] during their first encounter with him in [[Jubilife City]].

==Modes==

There are several features and two modes on the Vs. Recorder, which all use the Nintendo DS's touch screen to operate.

===Browser Mode===
The Browser Mode does not require Nintendo Wi-Fi to use.

====Record====
The recorded battles can be found here. The Vs. Recorder can record battles from the {{si|Battle Frontier}}, wireless and Wi-Fi. Players can also download videos from the GTS which can be viewed in the second option. The third option deletes videos by the player or the ones downloaded.

====Battle Frontier====
The Vs. Recorder also keeps the amount of [[Battle Points]] the players has. It also contains the [[medal]]s obtained from the Battle Frontier. This option is only available once the player has arrived at the Battle Frontier.

===Global Mode===
The Global Mode can only be used in the GTS and it depends on the terminal used.

====The Green Room====
This room in the GTS is used to upload and view boxes and dressed up Pokémon.

====The Pink Room====
This one is used to view and upload videos of battles. The first option allows the player to view battles. It can be searched by the last thirty that were uploaded , choosing the trainer and the type of battle or by putting in numbers. The second option allows the player to upload their own battle. Several numbers are given which are used in searching for it.

Okay, this is beginning in controversy. I see the Emerald outfit there, and I'm not the only. Just, like in my talk page, compare this two images, one from the 7th or 9th movie, an the other from the Pokémon Sunday video of the 11th movie.

Why do anymore see the green and the orange there? I know that the R/S outfit have the sleeves longest, but just the clothes are not exactly as of the games. Lucas' outfit is more blue, but in the game is totaly black.

==Brendan and May==
I need help, this may sound silly but it would really understand more, you see, as you very well know, in the game, Brendan and May can be chosen as a playable character, and if you choose may then, may'll have a mother while Brendan will have a father (which is Prof Birch) and that's how things can be accounted for in the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald games, if Brendan is referred to as the rival, then he'll select a stronger pokemon then May and from then on he'l keep that throughout the story.

Well in the anime, it acts the same way, in the movies, he appears as the owner of a mudkip while May is torchic's trainer, i wouldn't think this is so if Brendan never made an anime appearance but since he did, does this mean he is the son of Prof Birch?, i'm not to sure, but i think the game rules applies in the anime as well, it's like the anime itself choose May as the primary player so maybe this would be true and in the game, May and Brendan talked to each other, does May even know who Brendan is?. I have noticed that Brendan and May could be siblings. This also applies to Dawn and Lucas. Whichever character the player chooses to be, they will come from the same town, have the same mother and father etc. They may be from separate families in the game, but Dawn and Lucas also have similar hair tone. :Doesn't sound plausible to me. I don't understand what you're talking about when you say that they "have the same mother and father", but are "from separate families", that sounds like a contradiction. The gender the player chooses at the start pretty much sets the canon for the player character and the alternate-gender-turned rival (which, of course, is unwieldy when writing about the games at times), so either May is Birch's daughter or Brendan is Birch's son, but never both/neither in the same save file in game canon. ==Project SpriteDex==
===Scope and aims===
Project SpriteDex aims to complete and perfect Bulbapedia's sprite library. In short, any links where images should be must be replaced with the proper image, and any sprites with white backgrounds must be made transparent. Whenever the next Generation of Pokémon games is released, the project will focus its attentions on the new sprites.

All correctly categorized game sprites can be found [[a:Category:Game_sprites|here]]. However, nontransparency is easier to detect on the individual pages for each Pokémon.

It is imperative that any sprites uploaded to the Archives (and subsequently edited into Bulbapedia) are made tarnsparent. Transparency means that there is no white block around the image; the image's background automatically becomes whatever color is behind it. Single-color transparency and Alpha channel transparency are simple functions easily accessed on programs such as GIMP and Jasc Paint Shop. I've worked on 3 sprites for [[Gligar_(Pokémon)#Sprites|Gligar]]- the shiny backsprite, which was done completely on my part, and appears perfectly. Then there's the non-shiny front and back sprites- originally uploaded by someone else, I transparified them and resized them to specifications, and while they appear fine on their archive pages, they are stretched and blurry on Gligar's sprite chart. What is the cause of this, and how can I remedy this?
