Oh Do You Know The Poffin Plan! (Japanese: 怪傑ロズレイドと花伝説！ The Gifted Roserade and the Flower Legend!) is the 25th episode of the Diamond & Pearl, and the 491st episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan on March 29, 2007 and in the United States on September 1, 2007.

<!-- Short summary goes here. -->
spoilers
Synopsis
During the night, Team Rocket sneaks into a garden and snacks on berries. They notice an aroma that leads them to a building. On top of it, a caped figure jumps out and attacks with Magical Leaf, sending Team Rocket blasting off.

Ash and his friends arrive in Floaroma Town as Brock notices all the flowers, Dawn running off to smell them. An elderly woman comes by and tells them about when Floaroma Town was once barren and without any kind of vegetation. Legend has it that a beautiful woman went atop the hill and expressed gratitude, which resulted in flowers growing exponentially. After telling the story, the woman leaves as Dawn notices a sign about a Poffin cooking class. Ash and Brock do not know what Poffins are, but Dawn explains that they are Pokémon snacks that improve conditions, recounting past experiences helping her mother. Ash associates them with Hoenn Pokéblocks, but Brock mentions that they are made differently. Dawn convinces the others to take the class with her.

They go to the location as a Lotad and Roserade take care of the garden. Ash calls inside the house as Dawn notices that he is scaring a nearby Roserade. Ash checks his Pokédex. A woman steps out and asks if they are taking the cooking class, introducing herself as Forsythia. Brock is instantly attracted to her, but Brock calms him with Poison Jab and drags him away. She brings them in and gives a quick demo on making Poffins generally. Dawn uses her Pokétch Pokétch App to help cook Poffins to the appropriate measure. Forsythia remarks on her solid knowledge, Dawn mentioning her experiences with her mother. Brock tries to talk about helping his family out, but Croagunk's presence is enough to calm him down. Dawn’s timer beeps and she spreads the Poffin onto the mold platter. Meanwhile, Ash is struggling, almost spilling the batter but winding up burning it instead. Everyone finishes making Poffins at the same time, and all three of them bring out their Pokémon. Dawn's Pokémon tries her Poffins, but all three find them horrible. Brock's Pokémon like his Poffin, but Ash's Pokémon eats Forsythia's Poffins since his are burnt. He tries to eat them all himself, but he finds it obviously disgusting. Forsythia tries to reassure Ash as Dawn chases Dawn, sending one of Dawn’s Poffins outside. It rolls up to MTR and the Pokémon eats it, instantly perking him up and making him happy. Dawn and Ash wash dishes as Forsythia explains to Dawn that each Pokémon has a Poffin preference and that there is a unique recipe for each. Copying her mother’s recipe would be fine for her Johanna, but it is ill suited for other Pokémon. Meanwhile, Team Rocket decides to take the Poffins to get rich.

Forsythia prepares the group some tea as Roserade serves the plate, but quickly backs away scared. She mentions that Roserade has been very shy and nervous for as long as she remembers. She brings up the story of meeting Roserade, back as a Budew, in a Pokémon Center. Budew went with Forsythia when it saw the flowers she was holding. Forsythia gave Budew a red scarf to keep it warm, and it quickly evolved to Roselia and finally Roserade.

Suddenly, a giant explosion gets their attention as one of Team Rocket's mechas steals all the berries and destroys the garden. Team Rocket recites their Team Rocket. Ash's Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, but it has no effect. Jessie's Dustox and James's Carnivine come out, but when Carnivine latches onto James, he sends out James, but both latch onto him. Dustox uses Poison Sting as Brock's Croagunk uses Poison Sting to block it. Dawn's Piplup uses BubbleBeam and Ash's Turtwig uses Razor Leaf, but Cacnea’s Pin Missile and Carnivine’s Bullet Seed blocks the attacks. Roserade runs off and gets the red scarf, quickly exuding confidence. Dawn attacks with Swift, but Jessie uses Counter to block. Dawn uses Ice Beam but Cacnea uses Sandstorm to block. Team Rocket attempts to leave, but Roserade suddenly attacks with Magical Leaf. Team Rocket remembers last night and associates Roserade with the figure that attacked them. Forsythia recognizes the red scarf and wonders why Roserade is suddenly so aggressive. Lotad talks and Meowth translates that Roserade protects the orchard from bad guys and puts on the scarf to gain confidence.

Ash sends Pikachu to use Quick Attack to rock the mecha, but Meowth deploys baskets to lock everyone but Forsythia down. Dustox uses Gust to pin Roserade, but it jumps off the roof. Meowth tries to take the scarf off of Roserade, but Roserade resists. James sends James to use Tickle on Roserade. It works and the scarf comes off, sending Roserade to the ground in fear. Team Rocket attempts to take off, taking Roserade with them. Forsythia runs to block them from leaving, as the others are helpless to help her. Forsythia convinces Roserade that it is powerful even without the scarf. Roserade snaps out of fear and breaks free of the grip, using Petal Dance to shear the tires and the baskets, freeing Ash and his friends. The group attacks with Piplup’s BubbleBeam and Croagunk’s Poison Sting. Pikachu's Iron Tail cuts the basket and releases the captured berries. Roserade’s Petal Dance sends Team Rocket blasting off a second time.

Roserade uses Sunny Day and Lotad uses Water Gun to help repair the damaged garden, fresh plants sprouting in place, much like the legend of Floaroma Town. Dawn prepares another batch of Poffins as her Pokémon are reluctant to eat it. Buneary and Pachirisu try to get Piplup to taste first, but Piplup convinces them to all eat at once. This time, the Pokémon like the Poffins. Dawn learned from Forsythia that she could raise a strong yet beautiful Pokémon like Roserade. Dawn is now inspired to prepare for the next Super Contest.

* The English title of this episode is a reference to the line "Do you know the Muffin Man?", a classic nursery rhyme.
* This episode originally aired as a one-hour special with Cooking Up A Sweet Story!.
* Dawn used the Kitchen Timer on her Pokétch when she was cooking Poffins.
* Meowth tries a stray Poffin made from Johanna's recipe for Glameow and likes it. This may partly be because Meowth and Glameow are both cat Pokémon.
* Forsythia and her Roserade are seen holding a Sprayduck on different occasions.
* Kikuko Inoue replaces Yuriko Yamaguchi, who is on maternity leave.

Errors
* In the flashback is shown that Forsythia's Budew evolved into Roselia and then into Roserade just because it was so happy being around so many flowers, while in the games, Budew does evolve into Roselia through Happiness, but to evolve it into Roserade the player needs a Shiny Stone.

Dub edits
* In the Japanese version, there was an original intro for this episode, yet Pokémon USA starts out the episode with a cold open format (not present in the Japanese version), and then using the original intro after the theme song is played. This is also true for Cooking Up A Sweet Story.

Bruno is a member of the Elite Four. He raises Fighting-type Pokémon, living with them and training with them. He joined the Elite Four out of a desire to challenge the best Trainers. Although he trains Fighting Pokémon, he also uses Onix and its evolution and his strongest Pokémon is always his Machamp.

Bruno regularly visits the Sevii Islands. He and his Pokémon use the spa on Knot Island, and he visits Boon Island to buy Ragecandybars.

Brawly is a former training partner of Bruno's.

In Pokémon , as well as , Bruno continues to be a member of the Elite Four, though moving up in rank one level.

Bruno appeared in To Master the Onixpected!, but it's possible that Bruno appeared already in Pokémon - I Choose You! as the shadowy Trainer using Nidorino and Onix. His English voice actress is Maddie Blaustein and his Japanese voice actor is Toshiyuki Morikawa.

While Ash was preparing for the Pokémon League in Kanto, he found out that Bruno was training in the mountains near Pallet Town. Brock was enthusiastic about meeting Bruno, so they took Misty and headed towards the mountains. In the local mountains, it was known that Onix grew much larger than usual.

After Bruno saved them from one of the giant Onix, Ash and Brock begged for Bruno to take them on as students. Bruno agreed, as long as Ash and Brock would do anything he said. Bruno had them chop wood, carry water, and carve chopsticks - amongst other chores. Misty began to suspect that Bruno was a phony.

Brock decided to prove how amazing Bruno was by surprising him with a sneak attack. He assumed that Bruno's reflexes would be so amazing, he'd stop Brock with ease. Brock nearly ended up knocking Bruno unconscious. Bruno admitted that he didn't know any secret techniques on how to train Pokémon and just wanted to have someone to do chores for him.

Later, the kids were again chased by a giant Onix. Bruno calmed the giant Pokémon, and it decided to join Bruno's team. Bruno then said that the only true secret behind Pokémon training is that Trainers and their Pokémon should care for each other.

Bruno has amazing physical power and agility in the anime, and appears capable of using them with almost superhuman expertise.
|desc=Bruno went to Mt. Hideaway in order to find and capture this giant Onix. At Mt. Hideaway Onix grew much bigger and stronger than elsewhere. This certain Onix was rampaging around the mountain in agony. Ash and friends tried to stop it, but didn't succeed. Bruno then appeared and was ready to catch Onix. When Ash and the others asked what Pokémon he was going to use, Bruno shocked them by telling that he wasn't going to use any Pokémon. Bruno soon found the reason for Onix's agony: a Sandslash had been stuck inside of it. After Sandslash was removed, Onix became very thankful for Bruno and accepted to come with him, so Bruno threw his Poké Ball at Onix and captured it. It hasn't been seen since.
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
Bruno was primarily a villain. He challenged Red to a Pokémon battle in a remote area and defeated him with ease and critically injured his Pokémon. He then offered a position on the Elite Four to Red, but Red refused so Lorelei froze him. Many of his Machop were seen to decoy Pewter City and keep Brock at bay.

Later, the Elite Four tried to wipe out most of humanity from Cerise Island. Bill and Lt. Surge originally fought Bruno on two wild Onix with a pit of Toxic Mucus under them, which if either of them fell they would die. When Yellow and Blaine came along it was also revealed that he put up a barrier to stop any intruders from entering so a fair battle could be fought. Bill and Lt. Surge eventually gained the upper hand by combining Exeggcutes' Egg Bomb with Electrode's Explosion to make the Onix collapse and make them all fall except Lt. Surge had his Magneton create a Barrier to keep them elevated. It later was revealed that Bruno really used his Hitmonlee's legs to keep him hanging on. Red then came to defeat Bruno using Vui with new found control of its evolutions.

It was later revealed that Bruno was an unwilling member. Agatha used the mind controlling abilities of her Ghost Pokémon to force Bruno to join. Due to this he was suffering memory loss and questions why he was in the Elite Four, so he couldn't even realize that he was being controlled.

Without any place to go, Bruno formed a new version of the Elite Four in Johto, with three other ex-members of criminal organizations: Will, Karen, and Koga.

Bruno attaches his Poké Balls to the ends of a set of nunchuck. The force of him using the weapon causes his Pokémon to be released at high speeds, giving him the advantage in battles. He also has a unique Hitmonlee with arms as flexible as its legs, something previously thought to be impossible.
Trivia
* Bruno's hair has changed from Generation II to Generation III to a longer, darker style and his skin tone got lighter as well.
* Bruno was the first member of the Elite Four who was met in the anime, not counting Koga, who was not a member when he was seen.
* After defeating Bruno in the Generation II games, he will turn to his left; he is the only character in the Elite Four that does this.
* None of Bruno's sprites have ever shown him standing up.
* Bruno, Lance, and Koga are the only members of the Elite Four who have appeared in all four generations. Of the three, Bruno is the only one to always keep his status as Elite Four member.
* Despite taking place three years later, Bruno's Pokémon are at a lower level in Generation II than they were in Generation I. The same thing happens to Lance and Blue.
* In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Bruno was controlled by the braces on his wrists by Agatha. His Pokémon were also controlled in a similar manner.
Trivia?
The trivia that says the Pyramid King is "the only character to have been challenged 3 times (including the non-official battle with the Ancient King) by Ash before being defeated" is wrong. Brandon is not the only character Ash challenged 3 times before defeating. He also challenged Sabrina 3 times before defeating her as well.Pookiemon 06:03, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Wrong. Ash defeated Sabrina. He received the badge because he was declared the winner by her father (the ref) who explained that her telepathic link to her Kadabra made it unable to battle when Haunter made her laugh uncontrollably. It's still a defeat. And further more the trivia is still false or at least not worded properly because for one, Ash never challenged Pyramid King Brandon 3 times in the first place. Brandon was the one who challenged Ash (who was really possessed by the King of Pokelantis) first. Technically, Ash only challenged Brandon twice before defeating him.Pookiemon 03:09, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Ash's Charizard (Japanese: サトシのリザードン Satoshi's Lizardon) was the fifth Pokémon acquired by Ash Ketchum in the Kanto region. Its voice actor in both Japanese and English is Shin'ichirō Miki. In English, Michael Haigney was the voice of it as a Charmander and Eric Stuart was its voice as a Charmeleon.

History
In Kanto
Charizard was originally obtained as a Charmander in Charmander the Stray Pokémon. The Charmander was abandoned by Damian, and Ash and his friends found and nurtured it back to health. Charmander then chose to join Ash. It was immediately one of Ash's most used Pokémon, defeating such opponents as a Golem, a Jynx, Koga's Golbat, Erika's Weepinbell, and a Primeape (which Ash subsequently captured).

Charmander evolved into Charmeleon in March of the Exeggutor Squad and quickly lost its loyalty to Ash, attacking a Paras when Ash was trying to deliberately lose in order to help Paras evolve (The Problem with Paras). A few episodes down the line, it evolved again into Charizard in Attack of the Prehistoric Pokémon to battle an Aerodactyl. From the time of its becoming Charmeleon to the Orange Islands episode Charizard Chills, Charizard refused to obey Ash, the only exception being when he decided to test his strength against Blaine's powerful Blaine during Ash's attempts to win a Volcano. Charizard's disloyalty especially hurt Ash the most during the Indigo League championships, causing Ash to forfeit the fifth round when it refused to battle Ritchie's Pikachu, Sparky.

In the Orange Archipelago
Before Charizard Chills Charizard was still disobedient towards Ash. In the episode Navel Maneuvers Charizard, along side Pikachu and Bulbasaur, was used in the second round of the match between Ash and Danny, but it decided not to participate at first. Danny nearly won the round but when Charizard used its Flamethrower to get rid of Ash (As he was trying to get Charizard to move) it also acidentally hit the ice, which perfectly carved it into a sled, thus Ash won the round and remained in the match.

After Charizard Chills, however, it became one of Ash's most reliable Pokémon, considered by many to be his strongest, even stronger than Pikachu. Charizard's return to Ash's side is due to being frozen by a powerful Poliwrath; Ash stayed up all night trying to help it, thus earning Charizard's respect and reminding it of all that Ash had done for it back when he was a Charmander.

It participated in Ash's Gym Battle against Luana, which was also the series's first double battle, pitting it and Pikachu against Luana's Alakazam and Marowak; although the two Pokémon initially had trouble collaborating, they eventually managed to work together, Pikachu helping to free Charizard from Alakazam's Psychic attack and Charizard 'catching' Pikachu after it was hit by Marowak's Body Slam attack. Ash then used it in his Orange League battle against Drake, defeating his Electabuzz and subsequently battling his Drake before it fainted.

Johto
It participated in Ash's first Johto Gym battle against Falkner, where it defeated Falkner's Pidgeot despite the latter's impressive Speed. In Charizard's Burning Ambition, Ash left his Charizard in the Charicific Valley with Liza to train and become more powerful. While there, it took the role of bodyguard for Liza's Charizard, Charla, and the two have struck up a romantic relationship. The two Charizard occasionally visit the Dragon's Valley in Blackthorn City, one such visit coincidentally being when Ash was there for his final Johto gym battle, resulting in Charizard helping Ash defeat Clair's newly-evolved Clair in his rematch with her by causing the water in the gym's pool to evaporate with its Flamethrower and Fire Spin, thus depriving Dragonair of its protection.

Charizard can be called upon at any time and has been used in many major battles when Ash requires its firepower. Ash later used Charizard in the Silver Conference during his fight against Gary Oak in Can't Beat the Heat! (during which it decisively defeated Gary's Blastoise despite the type disadvantage and having already defeated Gary's Scizor and Golem). It was then used in Ash's fight against Harrison, where it was defeated by Harrison's Blaziken after a tough fight. However, Charizard injured Blaziken so badly that it couldn't fight the next day.

Kanto Battle Frontier
In The Symbol Life, Charizard returned for Ash's first Battle Frontier battle, where it took on Noland's Articuno at the Battle Frontier (Generation III) and despite Articuno knowing Water Pulse it won thanks to its use of the newly-learned Overheat, the unorthodox strategy of catching Articuno as it tried to use Steel Wing on it, and its trademark Seismic Toss.

Charizard also battled alongside Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Pikachu in a four-on-four battle against Pyramid King's Pokémon in Gathering the Gang of Four!, but despite a good fight it was defeated by Brandon's Dusclops.
Moves improvised
*"Aerial Submission" was a move used by Charizard in Volcanic Panic. Charizard spins while flying, causing damage to Blaine's Magmar, who was clinging on to Charizard.

*"Flaming Seismic Toss" was used in Better Eight Than Never which is a combination of Charizard's Seismic Toss and Fire Spin along with Clair's Dragon Rage.

Trivia
* Out of all of Ash's Pokémon, Charizard has used the most moves (14).
* Paul's Chimchar was later in a similar situation to Charmander, with the original Trainer releasing it due to it never winning any battles and Ash subsequently taking it in and managing to encourage it to release its full potential.
*During Tanks a Lot!, Brock mentioned that Charizard was male when saying that Charizard could use his Flamethrower to destroy the Arbo-Tank, but since this only occurred in the dub it is uncertain how dependable this information is.
* According to the anime, Charizard and its pre-evolutions die if the flame on their tails go out. However, Ash's Charizard once had its tail completely submerged in a pool of water, as well as falling into the ocean as a Charmander, but it was not harmed either time.
** Interestingly enough, on the Orange Islands DVD box set, the thumbnail picture next to the episode Enter the Dragonite on the menu shows Charizard facing Dragonite, but Charizard's flame is missing.

* Charizard was actually Ash's third Pokémon to disobey him. The first two were Pikachu and Primeape, although it disobeyed Ash for far longer than the other two.
* Sceptile and Charizard are the only starter Pokémon that Ash owned that evolved to their final stage. Coincidentally, both Pokémon were lizard-based in their first form (Treecko and Charmander). They along with Gible were also Ash's only Pokémon that are in the Dragon, however out of the three, Gible is the only one that is an actual Dragon-Type.
* From Volcanic Panic, Charizard has ended every major battle it has won with Seismic Toss, with the exception of double battles and episodes in which it was unable to use the move.
* In the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga, Charizard was much more violent, and could (normally) only be calmed by a torch that Ash carried around, which contained a flame from Moltres. During Ash's battle against Ritchie, in which both trainers send out a Charizard as their last Pokémon, Ash's Charizard goes berserk and severely injures Ritchie's, to the point that it's shown bleeding heavily from multiple wounds. Overwhelmed by guilt, Ash leaves the arena, thus forfeiting the battle even though he technically won. It is later mentioned that Ritchie's Charizard will be okay.
* Charizard was the first Pokémon in the anime to have defeated a legendary Pokémon. It fought and beat Noland's Articuno in The Symbol Life.
* Charizard is similar to Dawn's Mamoswine in several aspects. Both Pokémon began to disobey their respective Trainers after rapid evolution, only to begin following orders after each facing another Pokémon who severely injured them.
I'm not sure if it should be editted in, but since Charizard DO only have Blaze, shouldn't Charizard's ability be listed as Blaze? Me and my fellow torchics agree on this - Sk8torchic. 16:27, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
