During Team Rocket's motto variation, Jessie ends one of her lines with "itching". James then says "It might finally stop all of Jessie's... complaining". Now it's pretty obvious what James wanted to say, so could it be considered that he intentionally broke the fourth wall to censor himself? i think this page should focus more on the original mottos, like showing the original mottos they used in the respective regions on the mainpage, then hiding or shifting the variations to another, so a visitor does not have sift through all the variations before finding, say the Isshu motto. == Synopsis ==
The episode begins with {{an|May}} riding her bike towards [[Littleroot Town]]. Although today is the day she will receive her first {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} from [[Professor Birch]], she admits that she would rather just travel, and is not really interested in training Pokémon. Suddenly, a {{p|Duskull}} appears next to her and scares her. She speeds off, loses control and crashes into a tree. She continues onward, until she reaches a cliff overlooking Littleroot Town.

Meanwhile, {{Ash}} is also arriving in Littleroot Town but all he can think about is trying to heal {{AP|Pikachu}}. He then wonders if there's a [[Pokémon Center]] in town, and hopes that [[Nurse Joy]] can inspect Pikachu to see if it's okay. On the upper deck, [[Team Rocket]] hears the call for Littleroot Town. All are eager to enter this new land except for [[Jessie]], who seems to be depressed for some unknown reason.

When the boat docks, Ash disembarks and asks the port attendant where the Pokémon Center is. He is saddened to learn that there is none in the small town. He is about to give up when he remembers Professor Birch, and wonders if he has any capabilities of healing Pikachu. He calls Birch's lab, only to find that he is out doing field work. [[Joshua (assistant)|Joshua]], his assistant, informs Ash that he will let the professor know of the situation as soon as possible.

In the meantime, Ash waits on the bench, anxious for any word from the professor. Out of the blue, Ash hears a screeching noise. He looks up to see Professor Birch in a jeep. Birch asks if Ash is the one who called about Pikachu, and he immediately responds. He carries Pikachu into the jeep and they speed off. Along the way back to the lab, Birch begins to figure out what's happening with Pikachu; it is suffering from an electric overload after [[EP274|being strapped to Team Rocket's giant magnet]]. If the {{t|Electric}} Pokémon doesn't receive immediate attention, it might explode from all the energy. Their only hope is to drain all of it out of Pikachu. Once at the lab, the professor attaches the machine to Pikachu, while Joshua turns it on. Pikachu's electricity levels are so high, they cause the machine to explode. Pikachu then escapes, and Ash runs after it. Upon finding out Ash isn't carrying any other Pokémon, Birch grabs the three [[Starter Pokémon]] and runs after the young {{pkmn|Trainer}}. Joshua reminds Birch that the starters are supposed to be for May who is due to arrive that day, and Birch tells Joshua to ask May to wait until he gets back. As he explains this, Ash is desperately calling out and searching for Pikachu, but the Pokémon is nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, May arrives at the lab. Joshua tells her that the professor will be right back, but she ignores him and goes looking for Birch. She is unaware that he has fallen off a cliff and landed on top of a {{p|Poochyena}} while looking for Pikachu. After recovering, he apologizes to the Pokémon, but it just appears to get angrier. Two more appear and they all begin to growl at the professor. He realizes that they're about to use {{m|Rage}}. Although initially proud of his knowledge, he soon realizes that their [[move]] is directed at him, and runs away trying to escape from them.

As he takes shelter in a tree, May arrives and inquires as to why he is climbing a tree. Relieved that somebody has arrived, he tells May to get one of his Pokémon to ward off the Poochyena. Hesitantly, she takes out a Poké Ball and sends out {{p|Mudkip}}. The professor tells her to command it to use an attack, but May is unfamiliar with the Pokémon's moves. Birch tells her to have it use {{m|Water Gun}}. When she commands it, the {{type2|Water}} Pokémon sprays her in the face. Frustrated, Birch falls from his branch and is being pursued once again. He calls after Mudkip, who follows him. Birch commands the Pokémon to use Water Gun on the Poochyena, scaring them off. Birch then realizes that Ash and Pikachu are still missing, and has May follow him.

Pikachu continues to get weaker, but at the same time more frightened. It uses {{m|Thunderbolt}} on Ash, thinking he's an enemy. By now, Birch and May have reached the area, and see Ash dive off a cliff to save his friend. Luckily, he manages to grab onto a branch, but he is far from danger. Pikachu continues shocking him, and even bites him at one point to try and get away. Eventually, Ash calms Pikachu down, and it slowly realizes who is holding it. The Trainer makes it back up the cliff and meets up with the professor and May.

Just when things start looking well, Team Rocket appears in their latest [[Team Rocket's Mechas|mecha]], a giant battery robot. When May and Birch inquire about them, Ash lets them know about the trio and their evil ways. {{MTR}} begins bragging about how this is their best robot ever, and grabs Pikachu with one of the machine's arms. Team Rocket then has the machine put suction cups on Pikachu's cheeks to absorb its electricity. As [[James]] and Meowth celebrate the fact the machine is filling up with energy, Jessie yells at them, saying that Pikachu is getting stronger. After getting most of the energy drained, Pikachu shocks the machine, and a stray bolt of electricity fries May's bike. Then, the robot explodes, sending Team Rocket blasting off once again. This time, Jessie is happy, claiming she feels completely recharged thanks to Pikachu. The electric Pokémon then collapses on the ground, causing Ash to panic once again.

Back at Birch's lab, he determines that Team Rocket's machine drained all the excess energy out of Pikachu until its levels were at what they were supposed to be. After a rest, he says that Pikachu should make a full recovery. With that situation over, Birch now turns his attention to May and her first Pokémon. He first shows her {{p|Treecko}}, but May thinks the {{type2|Grass}} looks scary. Mudkip is next, but May says she doesn't want it because it refused to listen to her. Finally, the professor reveals {{p|Torchic}}, a {{type2|Fire}}. The Pokémon hops up to May and begins rubbing against her leg. She then decides that she will take Torchic as her first Pokémon. Birch gives her six empty [[Poké Ball]]s and a [[Pokédex]]. She makes a few comments about this, Birch wondering what she said before she tries to cover it up.

The next morning May looks at her bike, angry that it has been destroyed. She goes to find Ash and scold him, but when she opens the door, she finds Ash still asleep. May softens up and watches as Ash mutters a few things in his sleep and Pikachu awakens. The Pokémon then wakes up Ash, causing both to be happy that they're both okay. May then realizes that her bike can wait.

Outside, May releases Torchic and Ash soon comes outside. May greets him and Pikachu hops off Ash to meet Torchic. The two Pokémon soon play around, Ash commenting Pikachu sure can make friends with anyone. Birch and Joshua soon tell them that they have to go to [[Oldale Town]]'s Pokémon Center to register for the league. May makes a few remarks about going alone. Then she purposely says she would have, but Pikachu destroyed her bike. May asks Ash if she could come along with him, and Ash agrees to go. And so, they head off to Oldale Town.

:It's mainly due to the fact that these games are hacked from ROMs. ROMs are illegal (that whole 24-hour thing is bull****), cartridges containing these hacks are illegal, and we can't have full articles on games that can only be obtained by illegal means.

:Besides, buying hacks on cartridges can provide inconsistent results and their boxes don't always accurately reflect its content. Hacks may have gamebreaking glitches that can render the game incompletable; the Diamond/Jade pair have several such glitches. When searching for "pokemon jade" on YouTube, I found that there were not one, not two, but THREE different bootleg games called "Pokémon Jade." The most notable one, and the one that everybody talks about, is an Engrish hack of [http://telefang.wikia.com/wiki/Telefang_1 Keitai Denjuu Telefang - Speed Version], and had a counterpart, "Pokémon Diamond" (not to be confused with the one for the DS, but rather a hack of Keitai Denjuu Telefang - Power Version) -- though this is already mentioned in the article anyway. However, I found two other games with the same name. One of them, found [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lyGkQ7JIKg here], is a combination of other fake games -- Pokémon Adventure being one of them, but there were a few other games that this fake is based off of. There was also a video on YouTube a while ago (which is unfortunately gone now) showing a Pokémon Jade for Game Boy ADVANCE -- not Color, but Advance. The video didn't show any footage of the game, just the cartridge and box, but if I remember correctly, the cartridge had the deer thing (Shishigami?) that was also on the cartridge for the Pokémon Jade that was based off Telefang Speed. I was wondering if we should add a section about the fact that some people take the actual games and not remakes or revisions and bootleg them onto GBA cartridges and sell them over ebay, and amazon under the sold by users section. It happened to me on amazon and I have read other accounts of it happening to other people. One of the common things that happens with these bootlegs is there is compatibility issues when trying to use dongle method or the pal park, as well as the emerald save data being erased when Diamond or Pearl is loaded. Basically it's Pokemon Red Version. Everything is the same until you first look at your Pokemon. You'll have your starter and a Pokemon named "Ghost". It's sprite is the same as ghosts from Lavender Town. You can't trade it, release it, etc. It only has one move "curse". When you use it, the screen cuts to black and you hear the Pokemon who you're battling's cry, except the pitch is lower. It goes back to the regular battle screen, except the Pokemon is not there. It's implied the Pokemon died. So you go through the entire game. It's pretty much the same as Red. You can use Curse on anyone (except a few people, I forget who). So after you beat it all, it cuts to black. You then see an old person looking at graves in Lavender Town. The old man is apparently your player. You can walk anywhere on the map, except nobody else is around. The Lavender Town theme plays everywhere. You are able to go back to Pallet Town. When you go to your house and stand on the tile that you started on, cut to black. Then every player and their Pokemon you used Curse on appears, one by one. The Lavender Town theme slowly becomes deeper in pitch and slower in speed. Finally, you battle Ghost. You have no Pokemon, cant escape, etc. Finally when you're down to minimal health, Ghost uses Curse, the screen cuts to black, the end. You have to start a new game if you want to play again. Freaky, right? Oh....that was a little more than breifly. Oh Well.

It seems to me that Max served the purpose of placing the viewer into the story (notice how he says he saw Ash on TV when he first appears). Max also seems to have a high degree of knowledge about the Pokémon world, but lacks firsthand experience (granted, a lot of characters have started like that, but Max seems particularly facinated with taking in all that he sees). I was just wondering if people thought that might be something worth incorporating into the article.

I don't know how it isn't notable how not just the voice actor, but also (possibly) the writers and several others involved decided to put in a shoutout, however negative, to 4kids and the "father" of advertising using cartoons. To say that it isn't confirmed and then to not listen is kind of backwards. As was said before, this isn't the ridiculous kind of backward message where if you listen to "Another One Bites the Dust" backwards it kind of barely says "It's fun to smoke marijuana." And it's legitimate, as when the clip is played forwards, James sounds like he's talking backwards (those little scratching sounds prove this) and when played forwards, it doesn't sound like it's being played backwards, and sounds perfectly clear. And, no, it does not mean it's a coincidence only because it was found when playing it backwards. That's a generalization and an assumption.
