The '''Pokémon Fan Universe Anime Style Battling League''', or '''PFUASBL''', was an [[anime-style battling]] league associated with [[Pokémon Fan Universe]].

==History==
In late June 2003, Pokémon Fan Universe established its ASB with the help of members of the [[TPM ASB]] who were upset over its state and the changes being made to it. It was also established because the webmaster of Pokémon Fan Universe was trying to fill in the void [[The PokéMasters]] created when it collapsed in late 2001.

The battle system of PFUASBL was created with heavy influence from TPM's system, including the ASB Central and Tournament Forums for organizational purposes, as well as the general battle engine.

The first participants in PFUASBL were Deck Knight (known as the Knight of Deckness) and Moltrecuno, who oversaw the start of PFUASBL and put all the initial elements in place to create a workable PFUASB.

A few staple players were added into the fold, and would prove invaluable to PFUASBL's continued existence, not least of which was Sleepy Wombat, who took over in Deck Knight and Moltrecuno's absenses.

However, with the departure of many senior members, Sleepy Wombat and The Knight of Deckness included, PFUASB suffered, and it gradually declined in popularity; there was a three-month period at the start of 2008 where only one battle took place. However, after this period PFUASB experienced a resurgance in popularity, led by co-admin Jax Malcolm.

In the early autumn 2008 the PFUASBL suffered a drastic drop of trainers and referees due to a numerous of members leaving because of conflicts within the board's staff. Some of the older members tried to take the league with them by removing the contents of the topics. However, the lead administrator, Shining Arcanine, restored the topics and temporarily banned the older members from the league. With all the previous moderators and experienced players gone Shining Arcanine had to promote the best possible moderators to resurrect the league. As it was decided the league was to be built on new basis instead of using the old one. The two new moderators, Elbub and Necromancy, rewrote most of the rules and were close to finishing the rebuild the league. However, the league never fully recovered in its activity.

Before the end of November 2008 the newly signed and last remaining moderator for the ASB removed the important ASB topics, and the league was left to die; by this time the ASB's total activity had dropped completely. Pokémon Fan Universe was shut down in December 2008, and PFUASBL remains only in memory.

The PFUASBL was the last remaining league that offered a variation of the old TPM battle system, with the basic rules of starting with 6 lowest-stage Pokémon (barring legendaries), and one signature move per Pokémon.

In Generation I, he's called both THE [[Collector|Pokémon Collector]] and "a true blue [[Pokémaniac]]." Never once do the first generation games call him a [[Scientist|Pokémon Researcher]]. Where did that come from - speculation based on the fact he made the PC System? He's more of a [[Pokémon Storage System|Sys Ops]] than a Researcher. ==Controversy==

In mid September 2008, the only active admin of Pokémon Fan Universe's forums, Jax Malcolm, stepped down after almost five years of work on the boards. In the process, she closed down the board under the condition that it would be reopened if Shining Arcanine would choose a new, active staff. However, after two days of being offline, Shining Arcanine, who largely ignored Jax's requests, returned for the first time in months to simply reopen the boards with no further action. Angered by this lack of response, Jax returned to strip herself of power and publicly announce her resignation.

A week later, the higher staff departed with her, resulting in the locking of forums by the only active super moderator El Niño, who wished to repeat Jax Malcolm's attempts to close down the board for similar reasons, as well as the mass locking of topics by moderator Ekibyōgami. This resulted in a massive flame war which has continued to this day.

His other exploits including helping [[Red (Special)|Red]] find and capture an {{p|Eevee}} that had escaped from [[Team Rocket]]; facing [[Lorelei]] in combat with [[Yellow (Special)|Yellow]]; fighting alongside [[Lt. Surge]] against [[Bruno]] on the [[Cerise Island]]; and being attacked by a group of playful {{p|Staryu}} after meeting [[Crystal (Special)|Crystal]].

Bill not only designed the Pokémon Storage system, he also maintains it from his home, and was the one who repaired it after the [[Mask of Ice]]'s [[Team Rocket]] sabotaged it, allowing trainers from all over to send their Pokémon to aid Red, Green, [[Blue (Special)|Blue]], Yellow, [[Gold (Special)|Gold]], [[Silver (Special)|Silver]] and Crystal in their battle against {{p|Ho-oh}} and {{p|Lugia}}. His Pokémon include [[Vulpix]] (which he keeps as a guard "fox"), [[Magikarp]], [[Exeggcute]] (which evolved into [[Exeggutor]] in the Sevii Island stories) and [[Farfetch'd]]. In the Japanese version, Bill speaks with an Osaka accent.

Kazeto Tamashii, otherwise known as Kaz (not to be confused with the former moderator of Bulbapedia -- an issue she would like to clear up immediately, hence the creation of this page) or Mai, is a single female living within the northeastern regions of the United States. Currently, she is a staff member of [http://www.pokemonfanuniverse.com/forums Pokémon Fan Universe Forums], as well as administrator of several of her own RPG forums and lurking member of everything from [[Bulbagarden]] forums to Pokecommunity.

Most of Kaz's recognition most likely comes from her possibly unhealthy obsession with the character [[Bill]]. To show her appreciation for him, she has spent several years on an ongoing project that eventually grew into the largest and possibly last surviving fansite to his character, Forgotten Lights (currently known as [http://spica.blood-colored.org/masaki Split Personalities]). In addition, over half of her total archived fanfiction at [http://www.fanfiction.net Fanfiction.net] are either starring or involving him, including ''Warp Series'' and ''Fish Musings''.

She is also a fanfiction and Pokémon team critic, though she does not produce a large amount of fanfiction, nor does she actually participate in many player-to-player battles. She credits her knowledge on "paying attention in English" and "actually knowing the basics of Pokémon team building," respectively. He is most notable for his first entrance in the [[Generation I]] games [[Pokémon Green]], [[Pokémon Red and Blue|Pokémon Red, Blue]], and [[Pokémon Yellow]] Versions, his [[Bill's_PC|Pokémon storage system]], and his possession of the Evolution Stones. Bill is also a major player in the [[Evolutions: Destinies]] game.

In [[Pokémon Red and Blue|Pokémon Red, Blue]], and [[Pokémon Yellow]], Bill is found at the [[Cerulean Cape]], initially performing an experiment on Pokémon teleportation. He, however, gets combined with the body of a Pokémon and requires the player's help to fix the problem. After things are back in order, he informs you about his [[Pokémon Storage System]] and the "Someone's PC" changes to "Bill's PC." He also gives you the [[S.S. Ticket]], allowing you to board the [[S.S. Anne]]. Later in the game, you can visit Bill's family in [[Fuchsia City]].

In [[Pokémon Gold and Silver|Pokémon Gold, Silver]], and [[Pokémon Crystal]], Bill is visiting his family in [[Goldenrod City]]. After he gets the [[Time Machine]] up and running in [[Ecruteak City]], players can visit him for an {{p|Eevee}}.

While visiting [[Lanette]], players can check one of her computers to find an E-mail from Bill. This is the only time that he is mentioned in the game. However, no such mention is made in the Japanese version (not confirmed with Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire).

In [[Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen]], Bill is in the same area as in the original games. However, you meet up with Bill on [[Cinnabar Island]] after receiving the volcano badge from [[Blaine]]. From there, you go to the [[Sevii Islands]] and complete a side story.

[[Ash]], [[Misty]], and [[Brock]] meet Bill at his lighthouse in [[EP013|''Mystery at the Lighthouse'']]. Bill had previously been trapped in a {{p|Kabuto}} costume for what he claims to have been hours until Ash finally comes to press the release button for him. Afterwards, Bill fulfills a request made by Professor Oak to give Ash and his friends a lesson on the basics of Pokémon, during which Bill shares the idea that there may be many more than just 150 species of Pokémon. The remainder of his appearance is spent focused on explaining to Ash and company his recent project, involving a mysterious Pokémon whose cry can be heard across the sea.

[[Bill (Base Set)|Bill]] appears on his own card in the [[Base Set (TCG)|Base Set]] . It allows the player to draw 2 cards from their deck. In the [[Neo Genesis (TCG)|Neo Genesis]] expansion, he appears on a card called Bill's Teleporter, that gives the player of chance of drawing 8 cards. In the [[Expedition (TCG)|Expedition]] and [[EX Fire Red and Leaf Green (TCG)|EX: Fire Red and Leaf Green]] expansions, he appears on a card called Bill's Maintenance.

His various exploits over the years have included; being turned into a {{p|Rattata}} by his experiments and snatched up by a {{p|Fearow}}; helping [[Red (Special)|Red]] find and capture a missing {{p|Eevee}}; facing [[Lorelei]] in combat with [[Yellow (Special)|Yellow]]; fighting alongside [[Green (Special)|Green]] against [[Bruno]]'s {{p|Hitmonlee}}; and being attacked by a group of playful {{p|Staryu}} after meeting [[Crystal (Special)|Crystal]].

Bill not only designed the Pokémon Storage system, he also maintains it from his home, and was the one who repaired it after the [[Mask of Ice]]'s [[Team Rocket]] sabotaged it, allowing trainers from all over to send their Pokémon to aid Red, Green, [[Blue (Special)|Blue]], Yellow, [[Gold (Special)|Gold]], [[Silver (Special)|Silver]] and Crystal in their battle against {{p|Ho-oh}} and {{p|Lugia}}. He also created a portable Pokémon Transfer system using a [[PokéGear]] and a [[Pokédex]], allowing Crystal to send [[Professor Oak]] the Pokémon she captured while the system was down.

At the end of Volume 15, he is shown working with [[Daisy Oak]], and they seem to be getting along well, hinting at a possible relationship between the two, although there was never any solid evidence provided later.

In the first chapter of [[How I Became a Pokémon Card]], a younger Bill rescues a lost {{p|Dratini}} from an angry crowd and it lives with him for a couple of days, until its father, an angry {{p|Dragonite}}, begins to go on a rampage. Dratini returns home, promising to always be friends with Bill.
