===History===
Custom sprites had caused many ups and downs to Bulbapedia. When this first started, it was not organized as a project, it was just something done for the sake of it. So one day, some people had gone against the sprites and declared that they did not like it. So in defense, some users defended the sprites, but used the wrong method, and instead, started a rebellion to force others in liking the sprites. It was later discovered that it was just one, big misunderstanding. So in result of this, {{u|Tavisource}} started the Custom Sprites Project to organize the making of the custom sprites. He had this project held under his user space. But when more people came and the page got too popular, the page was forced to move to a Bulbapedia project page. Things went smoothly from then on, until in October of 2008 when he went to the forums to ask about people's views on a certain sprite. At the end, the discussion turned out to be an argument about liking the sprites or not. The people who defended them used every method they could. And for the people against it, their reasons was that they were causing too much trouble. Seeing much trouble with the discussion itself, {{u|Tavisource}} and {{u|Kenji-girl}} closed the discussion with a compromise to settle the two sides. So then on, things went smoothly and more people came and joined the project. Now, the project has caught up with the current anime showings. As for the people who went against the sprites, most of them returned to apologize and admit their mistake. Now knowing that this problem had ended well, we still try to keep this issue down and ever from rising once again. As for the people who were for the sprites, they had not been on Bulbapedia lately to witness the growth of the custom sprite project. Many just hope that this project will come to a success and be included in the completion of Bulbapedia, one day.

== Synopsis ==

The episode starts off with Ash and company walking along a path towards Mahogany as usual. Just ahead of the road, Team Rocket is finished with creating yet another hole for the gang to fall into. They cover it up fast as soon as Ash is in sight and hide down in some brush that's nearby. Just as the gang walks up, Ash recalls all those times that an ordinary road turns out to be a pitfall trap. Ash jumps about, nothing happens, then tries again. Team Rocket watches and then jumps out, wondering why the pitfall's not working. James jumps on the ground a few times then all of a sudden, the whole ground caves in and they fall. Just at the bottom, Wobbuffet pops out and causes them to fall some more, right through a ceiling of a tunnel! They all complain here and there before seeing a woman run by. They wonder what's with her before the woman wonders what's with them. She says she has no time to talk now and has to hurry somewhere. The gang had started to go with the woman towards whatever she is going to.

In the next room of the unknown place was a colossal wire tower built with rings with giant spheres connecting them. Just about halfway, Ash notices a few Xatu perched up on one of the spheres. Ash scans the Xatu and then tries to call out to it, which nothing happens. Misty tries the same thing, then Team Rocket who happened to catch up tries as well. Lost the woman says that she's {{Jo|Calista}}, the meteorologist of this place, since the people here are superstitious over what the Xatu says. She calls to one and then she runs upwards towards an exit. Everybody else follows her and are amazed that the other side is a giant stone auditorium with a group of people sitting on the bleachers. The Xatu fly up towards a guardrail and Calista grabs out two fans, everybody else does the same. She shouts towards the people, doing different patterns with the fans. Soon the Xatu do similar patterns with their wings and that was it. Calista said there should be rain tomorrow, but otherwise the rest of the day is going to be fine.

Just one thing happens to occur, clouds start to gather around and it starts to rain. Funny... usually the Xatu are right all the time. Calista wonders what's wrong and decides to hold off this little gathering for a while as she runs back in. Everyone else does so and more Xatu join with them. However Team Rocket were ditched on this and everybody won't let them go. So Jessie plays them all a round of Rock-Paper-Scissors (Japanese style) and wins both that and the look-away part, with that they run off. On the bottom of the bunker is a station. Calista and everyone else goes in and watches as Calista sends out a radar to check out what's going on in the area. She explains that this is "Netio-sama", otherwise the last resort of the weather predictions. Even the radar can't scope out this odd storm.

Just after a while, Team Rocket continue their decent downwards until Wobbuffet again messes them up and they crash into the station. They wonder what's with all the technology and stuff and Calista explains that it's the radar system. Then Jessie tries to butt in saying that she was once a meteorologist for a news program. One of the Xatu gets all nervous at this brag. Then Jessie goes on and on until the Xatu faints from this. Then the Xatu says that he'll figure something out of this. So everybody runs back up.

Once back up, all the Xatu line up and Calista does a few more patterns with the fans. All the Xatu repeat and they go faster with each pattern. Soon she gets the idea, a disasters coming this way! She tells everyone to evacuate the area, and everyone does so, but they leave a something valuable behind. As everyone waits around, Delibird comes by and drops in on Team Rocket, giving them a reminder of what they have to do to stay as members. So they sneak over and try to swipe one of the valuable items but Ash catches them before they could do anything. Then Team Rocket stop playing good and starts to take on their real role. Jessie first tells Delibird to throw a couple of presents at them, which Delibird throws three to each Xatu, all healing them. With that, James sends out Weezing to use Smoke Screen while Delibird drops in a few more presents. Just when it seems that all is taken care of, Weezing drops the screen and they are surprised to see that the Xatu are still there. Just before they can do anything else, Delibird drops a present next to them and then ditches them before it sends Team Rocket off into the sky.

The Xatu do one final pattern and Calista says they'll teleport away now before the disaster comes by. First the Xatu teleports then the gang and Calista teleport out as well. Just in the nick of time, a giant tidal wave comes through a valley where the place rests and covers the area. Though it's probably not much left, maybe Calista can now pursuit her real goal, meteorologist for a news program. Later Team Rocket are at the ruins of the would be weather station looking for any of those valuables that the people left. Delibird comes by and says it's a no-no, and decides to fly off without them. And it looks like Calista really did get her goal.

== Synopsis ==
The episode begins with {{Ash}} {{ashfr|and friends}} traveling alongside a dried up river, and while taking a rest they notice a strange light above the [[Remoraid Mountain]]. As they continue traveling, the light disappears as they arrive at the ruins of the Ancient Colossal Tree Tribe where they find [[Nurse Joy]] and a {{p|Remoraid}} [[fossil]]. Nurse Joy explains that there haven't been any Remoraid in the area for centuries ever since the rivers and lakes dried up as a result of the actions of the Ancient Colossal Tree Tribe's Remoraidians who cut down the surrounding forests for the sake of building a large city. Eventually after all the land's natural resources dried up, the Remoraidians had to to move away to find a new place to live, leaving the city deserted. Following this explanation, Nurse Joy then points out that recently, small flowers have been growing in the arid landscape again. After arriving at the [[Pokémon Center]] and having a drink, Nurse Joy reveals that there's an underground lake near the Pokémon Center which is filled up when water flows through the empty river bed approximately every 12 years. It is at this point that they meet Mr. [[Gan Gogh]], an artist who visits once every 12 years to try and draw the Rainbow Lights.

Gan Gogh originally came across the Rainbow lights 24 years ago and he tried to draw them using 7 different crayons, he was unable to get it right though. So 12 later he tried using 12 crayons instead, which also was a futile attempt. However, this time he made sure to come prepared with a full arsenal of 251 crayons. Ash comments on how he saw the Rainbow Lights earlier before arriving at the Pokémon Center, which results in Gan Gogh asking Ash where he saw the lights from. When Nurse Joy subsequently maps out where the lights must come from, it is determined that their origin is as the place formerly known as Remoraid Lake. [[Brock]] then brings up a legend he heard about the Remoraid at the lake being very difficult to catch, resulting in [[Misty]] asking how can {{type2|water}} [[Pokémon]] be living in an empty lake anyway. After this question is posed, [[Team Rocket]] arrive posing as archaeologists, with {{MTR}} disguised as a Mummy. After this unexpected arrival, the lights suddenly appear in the sky again, however are gone before Gan Gogh has time to choose a crayon to start with.

Following this, Ash, Misty, Brock, Gan Gogh and Team Rocket all decide to go examine the cause of the lights over at Remoraid Lake, and along the way they notice that there is more plant life the closer they get. Finally upon arrival at the lake they discover a strange crystal-like tower, which Team Rocket decide could have potential monetary worth before discovering it's made of ice. They then decide that since there's nothing better to do, they should go back to their usual plan of stealing {{AP|Pikachu}}, which [[James]] succeeds in doing by sneaking up from behind and grabbing him with rubber gloves. Ash is ready to [[battle]] Team Rocket, however Gan Gogh steps in first with his {{p|Venusaur}}. Gan Gogh's Venusaur easily defeats [[Jessie's Arbok]], retrieves Pikachu and sends Team Rocket blasting off with a {{m|SolarBeam}}.

As the sun rises after the battle, water suddenly starts shooting out of the ground within the lake bed, as a group or Remoraid appear using their {{m|Water Gun}} and {{m|Ice Beam}} attacks to enlarge the ice pillar in the middle of the lake. Misty decides to attempt catching one of the Remoraid, but fails due to them suddenly swarming together as the [[Poké Ball]] can't work on more than one Pokémon at once. However, it is proven by Team Rocket who have just returned in their [[Transportation in Pokémon|balloon]], that Poké Balls aren't the only way to catch Pokémon by using a net instead. This also fails though, as the Remoraid all use their Water Gun to propel themselves higher, breaking a hole in the balloon and escaping from the net as Team Rocket blast off again. As the pillar of ice then starts to melt, the rainbow lights appear in the sky again due to refraction of the sun's rays through the evaporating water vapor as the rivers begin to flow again. Later, Ash comments on how Gan Gogh never got the drawing he was hoping for, however he says that the fond memories that he has of this experience are worth more than any drawing will ever be. And so, our heroes continue their journey as they leave for a new adventure.

Following this explanation, Nurse Joy then points out that recently, small flowers have been growing in the arid landscape again.
