I have been collecting [[TCG|Pokémon cards]] ever since I was very young. I have known other collectors but have not seen any since my friend passed away. I have a decent amout of cards and a handful of rare ones. I will soon try to make a page of links to articles of cards I have.

My reintroduction to the [[Pokémon world]] started in a weird way. I grew up collecting [[TCG|Pokemon cards]] and watching the [[Pokémon anime|anime]] but I never played any actual [[Pokémon game|Pokémon game]]. After returning home from visiting my relatives in New York I realized that I forgot one of [[Game Boy Advance]] games in New York. I think my aunt was busy or something so she sent me the wrong game, which was good. I opened a package that had [[Pokémon Gold]] in it. I was confused, mad, and upset until I played it. I could not stop. So that is my story of how I was reintroduced to [[Pokémon]].

That's all I have in Base Set, starting Jungle now. Aya appeared in two episodes of the [[Pokémon anime]].

Her first appearance was in ''[[EP032|The Ninja Poké Showdown]]''. [[Ash Ketchum|Ash]], [[Misty]], and [[Brock]] came across the Fuchsia City Gym. They encountered a {{p|Venonat}} who led them through a wild chase through the booby-trap filled Gym. A flurry of shurikens pinned Ash to a wall, thrown by the Venonat's trainer - a female ninja in a pink ninja outfit. Ash and Misty were angry at her for throwing such dangerous things around, but Brock was infatuated as usual.

She introduced herself, and Aya said that her Venonat had told her some foolish people had been setting off the mansion's traps. Aya challenged Ash to a battle against her Venonat and Ash agreed - sending out {{AP|Bulbasaur}}. The {{type2|Grass}} blew away Venonat's {{m|Stun Spore}} and used {{m|Leech Seed}} to trap and paralyze its opponent.

Koga then swooped in and challenged Ash himself. Their match was interrupted by [[Team Rocket]]'s attempted theft of the Gym's {{p|Voltorb}} pack. Misty's {{TP|Misty|Psyduck}} soon sent Team Rocket packing and the match resumed with Ash winning the [[Badge#Soul Badge|Soul Badge]].

Ash and his friends met up with her again in [[Johto]]. In ''[[EP176|Ariados, Amigos!]]'' they once again met Aya on their way to [[Ecruteak City]]. She was training at a nearby dojo, learning Pokémon Jujitsu. One of her exercises was to defeat her sensei's {{p|Ariados}}, but her Venonat kept losing.

Ash's Bulbasaur and Aya's Venonat had a rematch, but Venonat lost again.

Team Rocket tried to pilfer the Pokémon in the dojo. Aya's sensei and his Ariados couldn't keep up. But Aya had trained herself and Venonat in speed and agility and were able to catch up to Team Rocket. Alone, [[Jessie]]'s {{TP|Jessie|Arbok}} nearly overpowered her and Venonat. However, Aya had her Venonat used {{m|Rest}}. Thinking that it was helpless, Arbok used {{m|Wrap}} to squeeze the {{type2|Bug}} Pokémon. Venonat then used an unavoidable Stun Spore - knocking Arbok out. {{AP|Pikachu}} blasted away Team Rocket, and Aya returned to the dojo, having finally won a battle.

He specializes in {{type2|Bug}} [[Pokémon]] and carries around a sword and a bug-catching net. He may have been inspired by the [[Bug Catcher]]s in the [[Pokémon games]].

He is notable as the first [[character of the day]] and the first {{pkmn|trainer}} {{Ash}} had a fair [[Pokémon battle]] against.

Samurai's sole appearance came in ''[[EP004|Challenge of the Samurai]]''. Ash and [[Misty]] were traveling through Viridian Forest, and Ash intended to catch more Pokémon. He was just about to catch a {{p|Weedle}} when Samurai jumped out of the bushes and threatened him with his sword, demanding to know if Ash was from [[Pallet Town]]. Samurai challenged Ash to a battle, having already lost to {{Gary}} and the other two trainers from Pallet.

In the confusion caused by Samurai's yelling and sword-waving, the Weedle escaped. Samurai insulted Ash, saying that he is a "bad trainer". Because of this, they started a battle. Samurai's powerful {{p|Pinsir}} knocked out [[Ash's Pidgeot|Ash's Pidgeotto]], but [[Ash's Butterfree|Ash's Metapod]] used {{m|Harden}} to damage Pinsir's pincers. Samurai sent out his own Metapod, and the two Pokémon, being unable of using any move besides Harden, were locked in a complete stalemate for hours.

Their match was interrupted by a {{p|Beedrill}} swarm, apparently angered by Ash's attack of the Weedle earlier. The Beedrill snatched Ash's Metapod and flew off. The trio hid in Samurai's cabin, where the boy continued to berate and insult Ash, saying that Ash is not a good trainer to his Pokémon, now for how he didn't immediately help Metapod when the Beedrill attacked.

Samurai did, however, gain respect for Ash when he used his newly [[Evolution|evolved]] Butterfree
to put the Beedrill to sleep by using {{m|Sleep Powder}}.

At the end of the episode, Ash, Misty and Samurai say good-bye, and the two boys say that they will battle again some day.

He made a cameo appearance with his Pinsir in the second opening theme, [[Rival!]] and its English dub counterpart, [[Pokémon World (song)|Pokémon World]].

Samurai also makes an appearance in the [[Electric Tale of Pikachu]] manga. Samurai, along with [[A.J.]] and Ash, wanted to find the [[Hidden Village]] run by [[Melanie]].

Samurai wanted to catch the level 99 {{p|Slowpoke}} and {{p|Magikarp}} rumored to live there.

His manga incarnation is much taller, older, and thinner than the version seen in the anime. His helmet covers his eyes, and he has a predilection for using words like "Verily!"

* At level 80, Arceus is the highest level non-glitch Pokémon available for capture.
* In its basic form, Arceus has the highest [[base stat]] in {{stat|Defense}} of all {{type2|Normal}} Pokémon.
* Arceus has the highest base stat total at 720, while previous Pokémon have had a maximum of 680. However, it does have lower stats in some areas than some other Pokémon, i.e. having lower {{stat|Speed}} than a {{p|Crobat}}, and there are several Pokémon that grow at slower rates, such as {{p|Shroomish}}, {{p|Makuhita}}, {{p|Illumise}}, {{p|Gulpin}}, {{p|Wailmer}}, {{p|Seviper}}, {{p|Corphish}}, and {{p|Drifloon}}.

Arceus may be a reference to the Chinese mythical creature, the {{wp|Qilin}}. Its myth is nearly identical to that of the {{wp|Pangu}}, the Chinese creation deity.

Arceus also seems to be an exact mirror of the infamous [[PokéGods]] since the only way to obtain either of them is through the use of cheating devices/secret cheat codes (at present). Both the PokéGods and Arceus are also extremely powerful and both are said to be [[legendary Pokémon]]. The only difference between the PokéGods and Arceus is that the latter is confirmed to be a real Pokémon. Therefore Arceus may be a reference towards them.
