Routes
I'm not so sure that a Gen V game has to start its Route numbering system from 301 just because Hoenn and Sinnoh use a similar method. A Gen V or so game could actually link two previously known regions. There are still Routes 47-100 and Routes 135-200 still unaccounted for. ~<font color="midnightblue" face="comic sans ms">$aturn</font><font color="green" face="comic sans ms">¥oshi</font> <font color="maroon">THE VOICES</font> 15:19, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

:Indeed. Not only is there no precedent or fundamental reason to believe it will be the case, the contrary is more likely to occur. Hoenn and Sinnoh are based on Kyushu and Hokkaido, respectively, which are the only islands in Japan - other than Honshu - arguably big enough to be adapted as regions. By this I am suggesting that Generation V is more likely to revisit Honshu, of which there are plenty of as-yet unexplored territories. If that were to happen, the numbering system would no doubt pick up from Route 47, regardless of whether Kanto or Johto were included in the game.

:Some might also argue that Shikoku, which is another Japanese island, is not too small to serve as the basis of a new region. Supposing that they had a point, the numbering system would still be likely to pick up either from Route 47 or Route 135, due to Shikoku's proximity to both Honshu (in particular the area encompassed in Johto) and Kyushu.

:Those are really the only possibilities involving Japan, and the pattern does suggest that Generation V will be based there. It is important to remember that the transition to Hoenn and then to Sinnoh entailed exploring new territories far enough from previous regions. Now that both Hoenn and Sinnoh are familiar places, that can no longer be done within Japan. -Unown Lord 13:01, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Sup guys, I obtained the Pokérus today while (I believe) wandering around the Fuego Ironworks. I was told I had them when I healed my party at a pokecenter by Nurse Joy. I currently have 4 infected right now, but I don't want to trade any of them. If anyone can tell me how to infect lots of other pokemon very fast, I'll be more than happy to trade you an infected guy (hopefully for something to make it worthwhile). I've never done wifi trading before, so I will have to learn that as well...Anyone got any advice?--Dragonite42 06:30, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Some of these attacks
Some of these attack seem like Physical Attributes and are they really that notable? Like Marnie's Drifloon knowing Fly. Are we sure we can consider that its actually using the game move Fly? The pokedex does say they try to carry children away, and Drifloon can float. I know she says fly but fly itself doesn't mean its actually the move. Here about this for an example, suppose there is a large flying Pokemon with wings, but it can't learn fly in the games, when it carries someone, is it really considered to be using the actual game move Fly? --Dman dustin 11:50, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Riolu is a similar issue. It's knowledge of Aura Sphere is due to it being able to manipulate aura, which its species normally can't do until after evolution.
: I think the difference though is some Pokemon can't learn/know a specific move period. And TMs don't really exist in the anime, and so most of the time a Pokemon has to learn a move by watching someone else. (Ash's Turtwig with Energy Ball). And with the case of Pikachu, all it was required to do is store it's electricity and use Quick attack, which is probably how all Pichu/Pikachu/Raichu are capable of using Volt Tackle. The anime puts more realism in the show, since the games are limited. I would be surprised if the games had a system where if you used two attacks in a row and leveled up, it would learn a move that way. And I think the point of this article is for moves that a Pokemon cannot know a move for any reason. Like if a Caterpie started using Flamethrower. It cannot know it period. But Pikachu can know Volt Tackle --Dman dustin 18:57, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
"the games"
Riolu's Aura Sphere seems to have exposed an issue. What are we counting as "the games"? Just the main set (RBY,GSC,RSE,FRLG & DP) or the various side games as well? For that matter, what counts as "learned"? - Cassius335 10:34, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

I believe it counts any move that a Pokemon can learn through any method, as long as that Pokemon with that move can be brought over to a main game. I'm [[User:Missingno. Master|Missingno. Actually, because the Riolu is transferred to D/P, Riolu does learn Aura Sphere in D/P.--<span style="color:#b00000;">Kuki</span><span style="color:#2c40a4;">Ta</span><span style="color:#049440;">lk</span> 13:23, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

That's not what "learn" means, Kuki. It can "know" Aura Sphere in D/P, but there's no way within D/P themselves for Riolu to acquire Aura Sphere; not by level-up, not by TM, not by egg-move or Heart Scale, not even by Move tutor. Even in Baatonage, the Riolu doesn't "learn" Aura Sphere as such; it shows up already knowing the move, without any indication of how it got the move. That's sort of it's whole point: it's an abberation, an anomaly; A Pokemon which knows a move it shouldn't know until it evolves. As such, Riolu's Aura Sphere belongs on the list. - Cassius335 12:01, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Anime errors?
I couldn't find an article on this, but I remember general anime errors in the cartoon that weren't move related. Like Jenny commanding a Growlithe (by calling it Arcanine) to take down Team Rocket's balloon, and Pikachu's electric attack taking out Marowak, which is equally as bad as a move error. I know there's other examples out there too..
We can't judge a Pokemon's attack solely by its appearance, just because it looked like Hyper beam doesn't mean it was hyper beam.
