I'm pretty sure there's nothing in Episode 1 saying Ash turned 10 on that day. All he says is "Now that I'm ten years old..." which means he could have turned 10 any time recently. The day seems to be one where numerous 10-year-old trainers are leaving Pallet - hence why Gary and the other two mystery trainers leave on the same day. According to this article, Ask, May, and Dawn were all born within the same year. From my own knowledge, one of the movies that took place before the Advanced Generation (or, perhaps, it was in The Battle of the Badge as stated in the article itself) stated that it had been one year since Ash set off - making him at least eleven years old if May was ten at the beginning of Advanced Generation. Later, in "Date Expectations" (AG114), Ash says to May, "There's not going to be another Grand Festival for a whole 'nother year!" If we assume the most recent Grand Festival in the anime was the one in Kanto during Battle Frontier, that means that at the end of Battle Frontier, Ash would be at least twelve, and May at least eleven. If we assume that Dawn was ten at the beginning of Diamond & Pearl, then at the beginning of Diamond & Pearl, Ash would be at least twelve, May at least eleven, and Dawn ten. This shows at least a TWO-YEAR SPREAD of birth years, even though the article says that they were all born in the span of less than ONE year. Could this be resolved please? Thank you. The only official statement we have on this issue is that Ash and May were both 10 at the start of AG despite claims of two years passing since the beginning of the series. The writers apparently don't pay attention so the logic doesn't work.

I also thought Misty was a year older than Ash, but maybe someone just started this and it spread into every site and fanfic, so that we all might have been wrong about it.
Anyway, it must definitely be true that Ash is around a year older than May who should be around a year older than Dawn. Just add the time they need to travel. It's always like "several days have passed, and now our heros have arrived in..."

Even if it's officially stated that "Satoshi is still 10 at the start of AG", I don't buy it. If a Pokémon's next stage requires the use of a stone, then it can be applied at any time, thus causing instant evolution.

However, once exposed to an evolutionary stone, most Pokémon can no longer learn any more moves by leveling up. There are exceptions to this rule, however, and certain moves are exclusive to the stone-evolved Pokémon.

Evolutionary stones can be found in many places, and are uncommonly found in [[the Underground]] of [[Sinnoh]]. The [[Celadon Department Store]] sells several kinds during [[Generation I]] and [[Generation III]].

Look, it's your call if you don't want to change it, [[Kenji_Girl]], but, the thing is, 30 second appearance or more than 30 seconds, he still very much appeared, Look, if her debut episode was truly dedicated completely to herself, Ash would NEVER, and i do mean, NEVER, have appeared AT ALL. sigh... have it your way, but I should just say that Ash's appearance was definitely not a cameo considering that what happened during the 30 seconds was a major plotpoint. a cameo has to deal with an appearance of a person, place, or thing that has no bearing to the plot other than as an easter egg. Since Ash's appearance set the next 2 episodes in motion, It definitely wasn't a cameo. Besides, as I have stated before, even if it was just a cameo, It still Proves that the her debut episode was only primarily dedicated to herself. She would never have Met Ash, Her Piplup would not have been exhausted from fighting Team Rocket's Mechlekid, thus having it never Meet Brock, etc, etc. BasicallyIf it wasn't for the ending, many of the things that I have listed would never have Happened. You know, cassius335, Technically DP001 is actually from the episodes [[DP001|Following a maiden's voyage]] to [[DP003|When Pokemon Worlds Collide]] rather than Just "Following a Maiden's voyage", since the first 3 diamond and pearl episodes actually aired as part of a special episode in japan, as well as a TV Movie in the us. but, you do have a point, if you take away 2 and 3. but it should be at least worth noting that she was the first of ash's friends to have her debut episode focused primarily on her rather than half or a third of it to her and half or two-thirds to ash. That way it won't cause confusion to people.

Look, I think that the part In regards to her being the first of [[ash's friends]] to have her debut episode dedicated completely to herself has to be tweaked a bit. I mean, yes, it is true that [[Dawn (Anime)|Dawn]] recieved far more development in this episode than any of Ash's friends prior to her, but it is still far from completely dedicated to herself. I mean, If [[Ash Ketchum|Ash]] never appeared At All during the episode (Meaning, not even the ending of the episode.), then, yes, she definitely would have had her debut completely to herself. But, since Ash has appeared in the episodes end, we shouldn't really say that it is completely dedicated to herself. If anything, we should say that she has the most development in her debut episode out of all of Ash's friends.

=Appearances=
Mondo's first and only appearance was in the radio drama ''[[It's a White Tomorrow! Team Rocket]]''. This album portrayed one of the regular meetings between Mondo and Jessie, James, and Meowth. Mondo traded his {{P|Ditto}} for Meowth, but the deal did not work out and each Pokémon returned to its original party. After his appearance in the drama, rumours started circulating about him appearing in the [[anime]], but they were proved to be wrong.

Mondo has great admiration for Jessie, James, and Meowth, and has a crush on Jessie. He calls Jessie and James 先輩 ''senpai'' (senior) and practically worships Meowth.

It appears that Mondo is only available to help Jessie, James, and Meowth in the [[Kanto]] region, as they often go without food and supplies while in other regions.

Unlike many other Team Rocket members, Mondo is not shown to travel or work with any other deisgnated Rockets. Perhaps he does, but he probably operates alone. He appears to be quite young (no older than approximately 15), so perhaps [[Giovanni]] has not assigned him to any important missions. It would certainly explain why he provides supplies to other Team Rocket members, rather than any really criminal activities.

The '''Pokémon Tower''' is a seven-story tower located in [[Lavender Town]] in the region of [[Kanto]]. On all seven floors, the tower houses hundreds of graves of deceased [[Pokémon]]. Many people visit the building daily to pay their respects to the fallen. On all floors other than the first two, though, the possibility of being attacked by [[wild Pokémon]] is present. In [[Generation II]], the tower was converted into the '''Kanto Radio Tower''', undergoing a similar transformation to the [[Power Plant]] to the north.

Aside from graves, the tower is home to wild {{p|Cubone}} as well as many {{t|Ghost}}-type Pokémon. In [[Generation I]] and [[Generation III]], [[Team Rocket]] tried to steal the Cubone to sell their valuable skulls. In the process, a mother {{p|Marowak}} that was protecting her Cubone child was killed. The ghost of the mother Marowak haunted the tower until the [[main character]] was able to knock it out, setting her spirit free. The Marowak that appears here cannot be caught, even if a [[Poké Ball|Master Ball]] is used. [[Mr. Fuji]] attempted to confront Team Rocket, but ended up being taken hostage himself and required the help of the main character to be released. As a show of gratitude, Mr. Fuji gives the main character the [[Poké Flute]].

The Ghost-type Pokémon in the tower appear to have a unique ability to disguise themselves as the ghosts of humans. However, a {{i|Silph Scope}} will reveal their true natures and identity, allowing the Pokémon to be engaged in battle.

A special spot on the fifth floor has been made into a wild Pokémon-free healing area.

In [[Generation II]] only, the tower was converted into a [[Radio Tower]], broadcasting music and radio programs, including the [[Poké Flute]] channel, to the radios and [[PokéGear]] of Kanto. Unlike the [[Johto Radio Tower]] in [[Goldenrod City]], only one floor, the ground floor, is open to the public as a result of [[Team Rocket]]'s infiltration of the Goldenrod tower.

After restoring power to Kanto by fixing the generator at the [[Power Plant]], trainers can receive the {{i|Expn Card}} from the manager of the tower, allowing [[PokéGear]]s to tune into the Poké Flute channel, which can be used to move {{p|Snorlax}} from its slumber in front of [[Diglett's Cave]] in [[Vermilion City]].

To compensate for the loss of the burial site, the graves were moved to a small building at the south end of the town. Most of them were placed in secret chambes that only Mr. Fuji knows about.

'''Ash's Tauros''' (Japanese: '''サトシのケンタロス''' ''Satoshi's Kentaros'')- 30 of them -were caught during [[Ash Ketchum]]'s travels in the [[Kanto]] region. Their voice actor in both Japanese and English is 小西克幸 ''[[Katsuyuki Konishi]]''.

Ash spent some time in the [[Safari Zone]] in the episode ''[[EP035|The Legend of Dratini]]''. He was attempting to [[captured Pokémon|catch]] as many [[Pokémon]] as possible, though all he ended up with were 30 Tauros. As Ash had six Pokémon with him at the time, they were sent to [[Professor Oak]]'s laboratory. This episode has never been aired outside of Japan due to the firearms being a plot point. The dub provides no explanation for their appearance.

The Tauros' main characteristic is stampeding. This means that the lab is a good place for them, as there is plenty of space to run around. They have proved useful at the laboratory, stampeding to wake up [[Ash's Snorlax]] in times of crisis. However, the stampeding has caused mishaps. The first time Ash returned to [[Pallet Town]], they stampeded through a fence. Later, they stampeded through the lab, leaving a mess and a large hole in the wall.

Ash primarily uses and trains one specific Tauros, beginning when he needed a replacement for Snorlax for his battle for the Winner's Cup of the [[Orange League]] in ''[[EP111|Hello Pummelo]]'' and ''[[EP112|Enter The Dragonite]]''. He traded Snorlax for one of his Tauros to see if the "beginner's luck" strategy would work. This Tauros managed to defeat a {{p|Venusaur}} on his own during the battle. He then stayed in his [[Poké Ball]] until Ash returned him to the herd when he returned to Pallet Town.

The Tauros was used in early [[Johto]] during the Pokémon Swap Meet. One of the events was a Tauros-battling competition, which Ash entered. He ended up winning the competition, but sent Tauros back to Professor Oak in the next episode.

On Ash's return from [[Hoenn]], the Tauros were seen running towards him with his other Pokémon. However, they were just stampeding as usual, and Ash had to be rescued before he could be reunited with the other Pokémon. He did finally use one again when he challenged the [[Battle Tower]] in [[AG169]].
