Ash turns 10
I'm pretty sure there's nothing in Episode 1 saying Ash turned 10 on that day. All he says is "Now that I'm ten years old..." which means he could have turned 10 any time recently. The day seems to be one where numerous 10-year-old trainers are leaving Pallet - hence why Gary and the other two mystery trainers leave on the same day. Unless they're supposed to have the same birthday. --Pie ~♪♫ 16:25, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Birth years of Ash, May, Dawn
According to this article, Ask, May, and Dawn were all born within the same year. From my own knowledge, one of the movies that took place before the Advanced Generation (or, perhaps, it was in The Battle of the Badge as stated in the article itself) stated that it had been one year since Ash set off - making him at least eleven years old if May was ten at the beginning of Advanced Generation. Later, in "Date Expectations" (AG114), Ash says to May, "There's not going to be another Grand Festival for a whole 'nother year!" If we assume the most recent Grand Festival in the anime was the one in Kanto during Battle Frontier, that means that at the end of Battle Frontier, Ash would be at least twelve, and May at least eleven. If we assume that Dawn was ten at the beginning of Diamond & Pearl, then at the beginning of Diamond & Pearl, Ash would be at least twelve, May at least eleven, and Dawn ten. This shows at least a TWO-YEAR SPREAD of birth years, even though the article says that they were all born in the span of less than ONE year. Could this be resolved please? Thank you. Ultraflame 00:53, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

:I second this. Each of them are at least a year younger then the last, however I don't want to change it without seeing more peoples thoughts on it. I also thought that in one episode it mentioned something about Misty being a year older then Ash, but I could be wrong.Can anyone else back me up on that?Ai Hikari 03:39, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
::See the aging in the anime article for our policy on that. The only official statement we have on this issue is that Ash and May were both 10 at the start of AG despite claims of two years passing since the beginning of the series. The writers apparently don't pay attention so the logic doesn't work.
::The Grand Festival argument is not valid, though. Each region's Grand Festival is a seperate competition. --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:04, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
:::Could it at least be changed to a ??? instead of 10 years ago? Or something like 10< or 10+? The thing is, even with the lack of logic or ageing, Ash has to be older than 10 because they've mentioned passing years in several episodes. The other thing is that if he's still 10 none of his achievements have existed unless the leagues are about a quarter of a year long. I also think it's odd how Misty is the same age as Ash - I would have thought she was at least a year older. This will all probably be dismissed because against no-aging rule these arguments are weak but wouldn't it make more sense if Ash's age (and birth) was left an enigma? --<span style="color:#009966;">☆Woodland:M ☆</span> 22:27, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
::::I think Misty is slightly under a year older than Ash, maybe ten months older or something. That way they could both have been ten when the series first started, and then Misty could have turned eleven a few months later. Taromon777 23:23, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

I also thought Misty was a year older than Ash, but maybe someone just started this and it spread into every site and fanfic, so that we all might have been wrong about it.
Anyway, it must definitely be true that Ash is around a year older than May who should be around a year older than Dawn. Just add the time they need to travel. It's always like "several days have passed, and now our heros have arrived in..."
Even if the anime doesn't care about aging, I think it's logic to do so. Eevee-Girl
Even if it's officially stated that "Satoshi is still 10 at the start of AG", I don't buy it. Perhaps a better way of dealing with May/Dawn's births can be listed as perhaps "10 years prior to AG" and "10 years prior to DP"? ::Makes no sense whatsoever. Especially since it's dated alongside "First Pokémon existed, according to archaeology. That war showed a plethora of Pokémon. Just because it happened before Poké Balls existed, and features an ancient art doesn't mean it happened 2 Million years ago. 2 Million Years ago, Homo Erectus was just getting going. Does this mean that Sir Aaron and Princess Rin are Homo Erectus? What's more, does this mean Princess Irene is a descendant of a Homo Erectus? Such placement of Movie 8's prologue is absolutely ridiculous. Probably would make more sense alongside the Otomegasaki reference at 2000 years ago. == Ash turns 10 ==
:Even though it is possible that he did turn 10 the night before he got Pikachu, which is chronicled in the episode itself, it is far more likely that he and the others turned ten just fairly recently, and had to wait for Oak's give-away day. --<span style="color:#FF0000;">T</span><span style="color:#FF0000;">T</span><span style="color:#FF0000;">E</span><span style="color:#0000FF;">chidna</span> 06:04, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you.

After all, it's indesputable that way. --Sato 12:17, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Yellow (Japanese: イエロー), or Amarillo del Bosque Verde (Japanese: イエロー・デ・トキワグローブ Yellow de Tokiwa Grove) is the fourth main character of the manga series Pokémon Special. She first appeared in volume three, when she was saved by Red from a rampaging wild Dratini.

When Red goes missing, Blue sends Yellow out to find him, and has her disguise herself as a boy. Most of the characters did not learn her real gender until the end of the G/S/C saga. Yellow's straw hat hides her ponytail as well as containing the Rainbow Wing and Silver Wing.

Yellow's first Pokémon is a Rattata that Red caught for her. Her starter Pokémon is Red's Pikachu which travels with her when she searches for Red. She later obtained her own Pikachu, Chuchu, which made a Pichu egg with Red's Pikachu at the Johto Pokémon daycare.

Yellow's special skill, as described by Professor Oak, is Pokémon healing and is called the "healer" (癒やす者). She received psychic abilities from the Viridian Forest, which include the ability to read the emotions of Pokémon and heal their wounds. Yellow is physically small and can still pass for a boy even at 14, something that is a running gag within the manga.

:Given how long ago the original Japanese airing of The Legend of Thunder was, it's kind of hard to keep track of anyone in that special outside Marina. For all we know:

:*Jimmy could be in Kanto, but he could also be in Hoenn, the Sevii Islands, the Orange Islands (keep in mind that Jimmy is an anime character), Sinnoh, Orre, Fiore, Arumia, back in Johto, or went somewhere far away.
:*Same with Vincent.
:*Eugene's probably off chasing Raikou. I wonder if he's familiar with Suicune-fanatic Eusine or a similar Entei fanatic (who may or may not be Nelson) (to make a perfect chaser trio similar to the chased trio)...
:*Attila and/or Hun may or may not still be with Team Rocket. Things could change quickly even between Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea to the present...

:Besides, there's no guarantee we'll even see any of the characters from the special again. Even the Marina merchandise from DP062 could have been her final appearance...--Shiningpikablu252 22:37, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
::Well, we know one thing for sure: Jimmy wasn't in Hoenn when Ash was, and was in Johto when Ash was in Kanto. Marina has to be in Sinnoh at the current time, to pose for the Pokétch thing. Vincent is a year behind Jimmy and Marina, the question is why?. Did he go to Kanto first? Couldn't have; he'd have seen Ash then. Hoenn? Maybe. Sinnoh? Also maybe. Paul went to Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn while Ash was there, but never contemporaneously, so he could go in order Hoenn, Kanto, Johto, or Johto, Hoenn, Kanto.
::I think it would be interesting to have Ash meet up with another character based off of a game character who's going on the badge quest. Gary served that purpose in Kanto and sorta in Johto, but he really sucked at it. Hoenn had NO ONE. Sinnoh's got Paul, but why not throw Jimmy in just because. After all, he might be there, we never see the audience in Marina's contest, so...
::Plus, Jimmy's the only main protagonist from LOT that hasn't been in the main anime yet. Even Eusine got in before him. <span style="background:#FF9030"><span style="color:#FF0000">TTE</span><span style="color:#000000">chidna</span></span>155<span style="background:#664444"><span style="color:#FFD700">G</span><span style="color:#E0E0E0">S</span><span style="color:#000000">DS!</span></span> 01:07, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
The animne characters are fairly important.

An evolutionary stone (Japanese: 進化の石) is a type of item with mysterious properties. It radiates energy that causes some Pokémon to evolve.

If a Pokémon's next stage requires the use of a stone, then it can be applied at any time, thus causing instant evolution.

However, once exposed to an evolutionary stone, most Pokémon can no longer learn any more moves by leveling up. There are exceptions to this rule, however, and certain moves are exclusive to the stone-evolved Pokémon.

Evolutionary stones can be found in many places, and are uncommonly found in the Underground of Sinnoh. The Celadon Department Store sells several kinds during Generation I and Generation III.

There are nine types of evolutionary stones.

List of stones
Fire Stone
Fire Stones can be bought at the Celadon Dept. Store for PDollar2100, or are given in exchange for a Red Shard in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. In Pokémon Crystal, they are given away by Schoolboy Alan. They can also be found on the ground in certain locations in the wild and underground in Sinnoh.
Water Stones can be bought at the Celadon Dept. Store for PDollar2100, or are given in exchange for a Blue Shard in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. In Pokémon Crystal, they are given away by Fisher Tully. They can also be found on the ground in certain locations in the wild and underground in Sinnoh.
Evolves
* Poliwhirl &rarr; Poliwrath
* Shellder &rarr; Cloyster
* Lombre &rarr; Ludicolo

Thunderstone
Thunderstones can be bought at the Celadon Dept. Store for PDollar2100, or are given in exchange for a Yellow Shard in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. In Pokémon Crystal, they are given away by Lass Dana. They can also be found on the ground in certain locations in the wild and underground in Sinnoh.

Evolves
* Pikachu &rarr; Raichu
* Eevee &rarr; Jolteon

In the anime
Ash was given a Thunderstone that the Nurse Joy from Vermilion City found in Electric Shock Showdown. He asked Pikachu whether or not it wanted to evolve to compete against Lt. Surge's Raichu, however, Pikachu decided not to. Ash kept this Thunderstone with him until DP074, when Pikachu again denied evolution when offered the chance. Jessie, James, and MTR stole this Thunderstone when it was sitting on the windowsill of the room Pikachu was sleeping in.

Leaf Stone
Leaf Stones can be bought at the Celadon Dept. Store for PDollar2100, or are given in exchange for a Green Shard in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. In Pokémon Crystal, they are given away by Picnicker Gina. They can also be found on the ground in certain locations in the wild and underground in Sinnoh.
Evolves
* Gloom &rarr; Vileplume
* Weepinbell &rarr; Victreebel
* Exeggcute &rarr; Exeggutor
* Nuzleaf &rarr; Shiftry

Moon Stone
This is one of five stones which can never be bought at stores. It can be found in a few locations in the wild and underground in Sinnoh. In Generation II, one can be found each Monday night in Mt. Moon's relaxation square by using Rock Smash on the rock that the Clefairy dance around. There is also a very small chance of stealing one off of a wild Lunatone or Clefairy with Thief or Covet.

Evolves
* Nidorina &rarr; Nidoqueen
* Nidorino &rarr; Nidoking
* Clefairy &rarr; Clefable
* Jigglypuff &rarr; Wigglytuff
* Skitty &rarr; Delcatty

In the anime
The Moon Stone is the first of the evolutionary stones to appear in the anime, in Clefairy and the Moon Stone. In this episode, many Clefairy were collecting them from all around Mt. Moon and bringing them before a larger Moon Stone. After an altercation with Team Rocket, this large Moon Stone exploded, raining shards down on the Clefairy, who, exposed to its radiation, evolved into Clefable.

Moon Shard
In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, there is an item that may be related to the Moon Stone called the Moon Shard. It is used only for Eevee.
* Eevee &rarr; Umbreon

Sun Stone
This stone was first introduced in Generation II.

This is one of five stones which can never be bought at stores. In Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, it is the first prize at the National Park's Bug-Catching Contest. In Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, a man in Mossdeep City will give one away. There is also a very small chance of stealing one off of a wild Solrock with Thief or Covet. In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, one can be found in Ruin Valley on Fortune Island. It, like the other stones released prior to Generation IV, is often found underground in Sinnoh

Evolves
* Gloom &rarr; Bellossom
* Sunkern &rarr; Sunflora

Sun Shard
In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, there is an item that may be related to the Sun Stone called the Sun Shard. It is used only for Eevee.
* Eevee &rarr; Espeon

Shiny Stone
This stone was first introduced in Generation IV. One can be found on Iron Island, and another on Route 228. They are also readily available with the Pickup ability, or can be Mystery Gifted from Pokétopia for 7200 Poké Coupons.

Evolves
* Togetic &rarr; Togekiss
* Roselia &rarr; Roserade

Dusk Stone
This stone was first introduced in Generation IV. One can be found in the Galactic Veilstone building, and another in an area of Victory Road that can only be accessed after the defeat of the Elite Four. They are also readily available with the Pickup ability, or can be Mystery Gifted from Pokétopia for 7200 Poké Coupons.

Evolves
* Murkrow &rarr; Honchkrow
* Misdreavus &rarr; Mismagius

Dawn Stone
This stone was first introduced in Generation IV. One can be found in Mt. Coronet and another can be found on Route 225. They are also readily available with the Pickup ability, or can be Mystery Gifted from Pokétopia for 7200 Poké Coupons.

Evolves
* Kirlia ♂ &rarr; Gallade
* Snorunt ♀ &rarr; Froslass

Oval Stone
This stone was first introduced in Generation IV.

An Oval Stone can be found in the Lost Tower. More can be found underground and there is a good (50%) chance it can be held by a wild Happiny or Chansey. Unlike other stones, it is not used on the Pokémon to evolve it, but instead held by it. It can be selected to be used like the other stones, however, it has no effect on any Pokémon.
Evolves
* Happiny &rarr; Chansey (level up when held during the day)

Everstone
This stone was first introduced in Generation II.

An Everstone is unlike any of the other stones, as when a Pokémon holds it, they will not evolve for whatever reason. Furthermore, a Ditto or a female Pokémon that holds an Everstone has a 50% chance of passing its nature to its offspring when at the Pokémon daycare. These can also be found underground.

In the Pokémon Special manga
In the Red, Green & Blue chapter a Moon Stone is first mentioned by Professor Oak in Gyarados Splashes In! as a rock with a moon shape inscription that boost Pokémon's power immensely, in the next round, Raging Rhydon, Team Rocket search for one in Mt. Moon, however it is Red who finds it.

In the anime
The first appearance of evolutionary stones in the anime was that of the Moon Stone in Clefairy and the Moon Stone. After a rather large Moon Stone was blown up, its pieces rained down and caused several of the Clefairy gathered around to evolve.

A second appearance in The Electric Shock Showdown introduced the Thunderstone, as well as the first opportunity for one of the main characters' Pokémon to evolve via stone. However, Ash's Pikachu refused the offer to evolve, knocking away the Thunderstone.

All of the evolutionary stones introduced in Generation I appeared in The Battling Eevee Brothers, where two of the Eevee brothers offered a Thunderstone and a Fire Stone to Ash and Brock so that they could evolve their Pikachu and Brock. Both Ash and Brock declined.

A Leaf Stone appeared in Make Room for Gloom.

Another Leaf Stone appeared at the very end of Pikachu's Rescue Adventure. With it, the Exeggcute that had been following Misty's Togepi around evolved into Exeggutor.

Ash wins a Sun Stone in the Bug-Catching Contest during The Bug Stops Here. He later uses it to evolve a Sunkern in Moving Pictures.

Both the Leaf Stone and Sun Stone appear in Whichever Way the Wind Blows! as a demonstration of the branch in Oddish's evolutionary line.

The Water Stone appears in Once in a Mawile and is used by Brock's Lombre accidentally to evolve into Ludicolo. This is the first time that a main character's Pokémon evolves via stone, although it is possible that James's Weepinbell was evolved by way of a Leaf Stone prior to The Breeding Center Secret.

Strangely, evolutionary stones do not seem to be required for evolution in the anime as they are in the games. Melvin's Exeggcute evolve without a Leaf Stone in March of the Exeggutor Squad, though this may just be an example of anime physics.

Trivia
*So far, only Generation I Pokémon can use the Fire Stone and Thunderstone, only Generation II Pokémon can use the Dusk Stone, and only Generation III Pokémon can use the Dawn Stone.

*The Moon Stone, Leaf Stone, and Water Stone are the only stones introduced in one generation that evolve Pokémon introduced in a later generation.

*Excluding Generation III Pokémon, only one Pokémon that evolves by each of the stones introduced before that generation is found in the Hoenn Dex.

*Of the original five evolutionary stones, the Thunderstone sees the least use, with only two Pokémon species that evolve using it.

*All evolutionary stones introduced after Generation I can only evolve two species.

*Of all Pokémon that evolve by evolutionary stone, only Eevee and Gloom can use multiple ones; together they can use any of the stones introduced before Generation IV except for the Moon Stone.

*Only four Pokémon that evolve by stone can evolve in another method: Poliwhirl, Eevee, Kirlia, and Snorunt.

*Pokémon that result from a Pokémon evolving via Leaf Stone, Dusk Stone, and Shiny Stone do not have types that differ from their pre-evolutionary forms.

*Only Grass Pokémon evolve using the Leaf Stone and Sun Stone, and both Pokémon that evolve using the Sun Stone evolve into pure Grass-types.

*The Oval Stone is the only evolutionary stone that must be held by the Pokémon, instead of used directly on it, to induce evolution. Thus, it works more like a Razor Claw or Razor Fang in functionality.

*Of all the Pokémon that evolve by evolutionary stone, only Happiny is able to evolve further.

*In National Dex order, five evolution families in a row that use an evolutionary stone appear: Nidoran♀, Nidoran♂, Clefairy, Vulpix, Jigglypuff.
It is one of the largest cities in Kanto, second only to the giant Saffron City in the east. It is home to Erika, the Celadon City Gym Leader.

On the east side of town, a decorative fountain rests before the large Celadon Dept. Store.
Celadon Mansion
Next to the town's Pokémon Center is the Celadon Mansion, where staff members of Game Freak rent a room from an old lady.
Game Corner
Rocket Game Corner
The southern part of the city caters to travelers and tourists. In addition to a hotel and a restaurant, the Game Corner is a popular spot. The citizens take pride in the city's beauty and think the casino is bad for their image.

The Rocket Game Corner sold very rare Pokémon such as Dratini and Porygon in exchange for coins.

In the Generation I games, the player must go into the underbelly of the Game Corner and defeat Team Rocket. In Generation II, it has been renamed the Celadon Game Corner and is no longer run by Team Rocket.
about the trivia section...
Look, I think that the part In regards to her being the first of ash's friends to have her debut episode dedicated completely to herself has to be tweaked a bit. I mean, yes, it is true that Dawn recieved far more development in this episode than any of Ash's friends prior to her, but it is still far from completely dedicated to herself. I mean, If Ash never appeared At All during the episode (Meaning, not even the ending of the episode.), then, yes, she definitely would have had her debut completely to herself. But, since Ash has appeared in the episodes end, we shouldn't really say that it is completely dedicated to herself. If anything, we should say that she has the most development in her debut episode out of all of Ash's friends.
now, if you don't want it to change, that's fine by me. I just wanted to let you know.

~~Weedle_Mchairybug~~
::The episode was completely dedicated to Dawn. So Ash had 30 seconds at the end. That doesn't make a difference. My point was that she had more of a premier than the rest of Ash's friends. But Maxim's right. Maybe some of the trivia should be incorporated in he profile. --<span style="color:#0005CD;">☆</span><span style="color:#15E200;">ケンジ</span><span style="color:#DC0062;">ガール</span> 03:35, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Look, it's your call if you don't want to change it, Kenji_Girl, but, the thing is, 30 second appearance or more than 30 seconds, he still very much appeared, Look, if her debut episode was truly dedicated completely to herself, Ash would NEVER, and i do mean, NEVER, have appeared AT ALL. The definition of completely is an adjactive meaning Absolutely, positively, 100% happened. Since 30 seconds was saved for ash, It really shouldn't follow under the term "Completely dedicated to herself". Now, don't get me wrong, as i have said before, she still had quite a bit more of a debut episode than his other companions, but even still, it is still a far cry from being "Completely dedicated" to herself. How about we say "Dawn is the first of Ash's friends to have her debut episode Primarily dedicated to herself rather than sharing half of it to Ash." and keeping the "Ash only appeared in the end"? that way, we would be far more accurate with the info, and yet still convey what we mean.

sigh... have it your way, but I should just say that Ash's appearance was definitely not a cameo considering that what happened during the 30 seconds was a major plotpoint. a cameo has to deal with an appearance of a person, place, or thing that has no bearing to the plot other than as an easter egg. Since Ash's appearance set the next 2 episodes in motion, It definitely wasn't a cameo. Besides, as I have stated before, even if it was just a cameo, It still Proves that the her debut episode was only primarily dedicated to herself. As I have stated before, If it truly was completely dedicated to her, Ash would Never have appeared AT ALL, not even as the 30-second appearance in the ending. but, it is your decision, now if anyone thinks my views should be followed, fine. if you think that my views are nothing more than, as you call it, Tauros droppings, fine, even if i feel that these statements you said are inaccurate. I thought the whole "Primarily dedicated" part would be more accurate than the "completely dedicated" since, while it is still more than what the other characters got, it is still a far cry from a completely dedicated debut. Now, Jimmy/Yoshi, Marina/Dani, And Vincent/Jackson's debut in "Legend of thunder" Is what I would call a Completely dedicated debut to those three considering that Ash never appeared AT ALL. but, as I said, It's your call.
except for maybe Dawn Meeting Pikachu, Ash, Brock, Paul (not to mention Paul meeting Ash), and Team rocket? Or maybe having Ash catch Starly (really, the only reason why Ash even caught the bird in the first place was to try and find Pikachu. Ash and even Brock explicitly stated that. Really, If TR didn't capture Pikachu in the first DP episode, then Ash wouldn't have caught Starly this early In the saga.)? besides, Ash caught all three Kanto starters in three episodes, and the last time I checked, the majority of the fanbase seemed to count it as an important plot point and affected the plot. If they counted THAT as an important plot point and affected the plot, we can most certainly count the 3-episode arc that began the DP saga as an important plot point as well. but, then again, Ignore my ideas, It isn't going to be the first time. I only thought that I should change it because it was somewhat inaccurate, and since wikis are mostly supposed to be accurate, i figured that it should be edited slightly. Now, i might try and edit it on my own accord, but I usually don't do that unless the talk page is unavailable. aw well, theres a first for everything...
...Which happened Immediately after the events of the ending of episode 1. If Team Rocket never stole Pikachu, then Dawn wouldn't have Found and Battled Pikachu, Her Bike would never have been Fried, She would not have encountered Team rocket twice, She would NEVER have heard of Ash (remember, she only heard of ash because she was searching for its owner.) She would never have Met Ash, Her Piplup would not have been exhausted from fighting Team Rocket's Mechlekid, thus having it never Meet Brock, etc, etc. BasicallyIf it wasn't for the ending, many of the things that I have listed would never have Happened. But, Hey, it's your call. I just felt it was inaccurate because Completely debuted, to me, makes me think of Vincent/Jackson, Marina/Dani, and Jimmy/Yoshi in Legend of thunder (Meaning, Ash and co., Ash and Co never appeared In that Special at all.)

Oh, and speaking of which, Haruka Uzumaki, even if it seems relatively insignificant, it definitely isn't absolutely nothing. Team Rocket's appearance in the Debut episode of Ash is "Absolutely Nothing", Ash's Group's appearance in Legend of Thunder is "absolutely nothing", Team rocket's appearance in [[AG120|Ash and May! That ISN'T Absolutely nothing. No offense, Haruka Uzumaki, just wanting to clear some things up.
You're overthinking it. You're putting that 30 seconds in the context of the first 3 eps, but the rest of us only talking about the events of Ep 1. While it did lead in to Ep 2, if you take that 30 seconds out, the rest of Ep 1 would be utterly unaffected. Cassius335 18:04, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

You know, cassius335, Technically DP001 is actually from the episodes Following a maiden's voyage to When Pokemon Worlds Collide rather than Just "Following a Maiden's voyage", since the first 3 diamond and pearl episodes actually aired as part of a special episode in japan, as well as a TV Movie in the us. but, you do have a point, if you take away 2 and 3. but it should be at least worth noting that she was the first of ash's friends to have her debut episode focused primarily on her rather than half or a third of it to her and half or two-thirds to ash. That way it won't cause confusion to people.
about the trivia section...

I only thought that I should change it because it was somewhat inaccurate, and since wikis are mostly supposed to be accurate, i figured that it should be edited slightly. ...Which happened Immediately after the events of the ending of episode 1. ==Trivia==
* Every Gym Leader that specializes in Rock Pokémon uses Geodude in battle.
* Each in-game region except Johto begins with a Gym Leader that specializes in Rock Pokémon.
* Johto is the only region that did not repeat types from gyms released in previous generations.
* Even though there are 32 known gyms in the games, there has not yet been a gym specializing in Dark Pokémon. Only Poison-, Ground-, Bug-, and Dragon gyms are not located in multiple regions. Each of the twelve other types has been repeated at least once, and Rock-, Water-, Electric-, and Fighting gyms appear in three of the four regions.
*If the Fighting Dojo in Kanto is counted, there has been a Fighting gym in each region at some point in time.
*There have been more male Gym Leaders than female ones in every region except for Sinnoh, where there are four of each. Kanto also has four of each in Generation II.
**As far as type distribution goes, there have been Gym Leaders of both genders for Rock-, Water-, Poison-, Psychic-, Fire-, Flying-, Normal-, Ghost-, Fighting-, Steel-, and Ice-type gyms, only male Gym Leaders for Electric-, Ground-, and Bug-type gyms, and only female Gym Leaders for Grass- and Dragon-type gyms. To be fair, of those that have only been led by a specific gender, only Grass-type and Electric-type gyms have appeared in more than one region.
Mondo (Japanese: モンド) is a member of Team Rocket who assists the trio of Jessie, James, and Meowth with supplies and escapes while they are in the Kanto region. His Japanese voice actor is 子安武人 Takehito Koyasu.

Appearances
Mondo's first and only appearance was in the radio drama It's a White Tomorrow! Team Rocket. This album portrayed one of the regular meetings between Mondo and Jessie, James, and Meowth. Mondo traded his Ditto for Meowth, but the deal did not work out and each Pokémon returned to its original party. After his appearance in the drama, rumours started circulating about him appearing in the anime, but they were proved to be wrong.

Mondo has great admiration for Jessie, James, and Meowth, and has a crush on Jessie. He calls Jessie and James 先輩 senpai (senior) and practically worships Meowth.

It appears that Mondo is only available to help Jessie, James, and Meowth in the Kanto region, as they often go without food and supplies while in other regions.

Unlike many other Team Rocket members, Mondo is not shown to travel or work with any other deisgnated Rockets. Perhaps he does, but he probably operates alone. He appears to be quite young (no older than approximately 15), so perhaps Giovanni has not assigned him to any important missions. It would certainly explain why he provides supplies to other Team Rocket members, rather than any really criminal activities.
The Pokémon Tower is a seven-story tower located in Lavender Town in the region of Kanto. On all seven floors, the tower houses hundreds of graves of deceased Pokémon. Many people visit the building daily to pay their respects to the fallen. On all floors other than the first two, though, the possibility of being attacked by wild Pokémon is present. In Generation II, the tower was converted into the Kanto Radio Tower, undergoing a similar transformation to the Power Plant to the north.

Aside from graves, the tower is home to wild Cubone as well as many Ghost-type Pokémon. In Generation I and Generation III, Team Rocket tried to steal the Cubone to sell their valuable skulls. In the process, a mother Marowak that was protecting her Cubone child was killed. The ghost of the mother Marowak haunted the tower until the main character was able to knock it out, setting her spirit free. The Marowak that appears here cannot be caught, even if a Master Ball is used. Mr. Fuji attempted to confront Team Rocket, but ended up being taken hostage himself and required the help of the main character to be released. As a show of gratitude, Mr. Fuji gives the main character the Poké Flute.

The Ghost-type Pokémon in the tower appear to have a unique ability to disguise themselves as the ghosts of humans. However, a Silph Scope will reveal their true natures and identity, allowing the Pokémon to be engaged in battle.

Differences among Generations
In Generation II only, the tower was converted into a Radio Tower, broadcasting music and radio programs, including the Poké Flute channel, to the radios and PokéGear of Kanto. Unlike the Johto Radio Tower in Goldenrod City, only one floor, the ground floor, is open to the public as a result of Team Rocket's infiltration of the Goldenrod tower.

After restoring power to Kanto by fixing the generator at the Power Plant, trainers can receive the Expn Card from the manager of the tower, allowing PokéGears to tune into the Poké Flute channel, which can be used to move Snorlax from its slumber in front of Diglett's Cave in Vermilion City.

To compensate for the loss of the burial site, the graves were moved to a small building at the south end of the town. Most of them were placed in secret chambes that only Mr. Fuji knows about.
::::::I'm mostly trying to erase it because it says that it belongs to Satoshi, when there's really no actual need to believe that. Fact that Satoshi didn't really seem to care about it, but twitched when he caught more than one, says to me that the one Takeshi caught actually belonged to Takeshi himself.
But Ash still has all 30 Tauros, so I'd assume that Brock either was helping him catch the Tauros with the balls, or figured that since Ash caught the rest of the herd (which we didn't actually ever see happen either), he gave the Tauros to him. --<span style="color:#FF0000;">T</span><span style="color:#FF0000;">T</span><span style="color:#FF0000;">E</span><span style="color:#0000FF;">chidna</span> 08:26, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Ash's Tauros (Japanese: サトシのケンタロス Satoshi's Kentaros)- 30 of them -were caught during Ash Ketchum's travels in the Kanto region. Their voice actor in both Japanese and English is 小西克幸 Katsuyuki Konishi.

Ash spent some time in the Safari Zone in the episode The Legend of Dratini. He was attempting to catch as many Pokémon as possible, though all he ended up with were 30 Tauros. As Ash had six Pokémon with him at the time, they were sent to Professor Oak's laboratory. This episode has never been aired outside of Japan due to the firearms being a plot point. The dub provides no explanation for their appearance.

The Tauros' main characteristic is stampeding. This means that the lab is a good place for them, as there is plenty of space to run around. They have proved useful at the laboratory, stampeding to wake up Ash's Snorlax in times of crisis. However, the stampeding has caused mishaps. The first time Ash returned to Pallet Town, they stampeded through a fence. Later, they stampeded through the lab, leaving a mess and a large hole in the wall.

Ash primarily uses and trains one specific Tauros, beginning when he needed a replacement for Snorlax for his battle for the Winner's Cup of the Orange League in Hello Pummelo and Enter The Dragonite. He traded Snorlax for one of his Tauros to see if the "beginner's luck" strategy would work. This Tauros managed to defeat a Venusaur on his own during the battle. He then stayed in his Poké Ball until Ash returned him to the herd when he returned to Pallet Town.

The Tauros was used in early Johto during the Pokémon Swap Meet. One of the events was a Tauros-battling competition, which Ash entered. He ended up winning the competition, but sent Tauros back to Professor Oak in the next episode.

On Ash's return from Hoenn, the Tauros were seen running towards him with his other Pokémon. However, they were just stampeding as usual, and Ash had to be rescued before he could be reunited with the other Pokémon. He did finally use one again when he challenged the Battle Tower in AG169.
