Spear Pillar (Japanese: やりのはしら Spear Pillar) is a location on the peak of the Sinnoh region's Mt. Coronet, where either Dialga or Palkia can be battled and captured in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl depending on the version. In Platinum, both Dialga and Palkia appear. It is also where the player meets the boss of Team Galactic, Cyrus, and faces off against him as well as Mars and Jupiter. The player faces Mars and Jupiter while battling alongside his/her Pearl.

After the defeat or capture of Dialga or Palkia in Diamond and Pearl, the Adamant Orb or Lustrous Orb, respectively, will be able to be found behind where the Pokémon was.

If the player has the Azure Flute, it will make a whistling noise almost as soon as the player enters the area from the cave. If the player chooses to blow into it, a staircase will appear that extends up to the Hall of Origin, where Arceus awaits.

In Platinum, the first entrance to the Distortion World, where Giratina resides, is located at the top of the Spear Pillar. Cyrus and Cynthia manage to enter as well as the player.

* In Platinum, Dialga and Palkia will not appear until their respective orbs have been obtained from Mt. Coronet and the player has spoken with Cynthia's grandmother about the function of the orbs.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Spear Pillar (stage)

Spear Pillar is also an unlockable stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Players can unlock the stage by completing Event 25: The Aura Is With Me. The background of the stage will feature either Dialga, Palkia or Cresselia, who will occasionally do things to affect the stage such as tilting it diagonally or breaking one section of the top platform; Dialga slows time, Palkia flips or reverses the view, and Cresselia randomly attacks with flying crescents. The lake trio will also make short cameo appearances when something happens to the stage.

The stage's default music is "Victory Road" from Ruby and Sapphire. Other pieces of background music are "Dialga / Palkia Battle at Spear Pillar!," "Wild Pokémon Battle! (Diamond / Pearl)," "Team Galactic Battle!," and "Route 209."

At some point Dialga, Palkia, and Cresselia will affect the stage, each with different effects to the field. Dialga appears when the sky has a blue hue. Palkia appears when the sky has a purple hue. Cresselia appears when the sky is clear.

Oddly enough, you can see a face of one of the Dragon Trio in the stars.
Trivia
*The name spear pillar is a reference to the creation myth in Shintō, where the deities Izanagi and Izanami were given the spear 天沼矛 Ame-no-nuboko, with which they created 淤能碁呂島 Onogoroshima, upon which they built the pillar 天御柱 Ame-no-mihashira.
*Spear Pillar is technically part of Mt. Coronet, and therefore, Magneton and Nosepass will evolve here if leveled up.
*It is still unknown if the Distortion World is part of Mt. Coronet.
*The Escape Rope cannot be used here, despite it being part of Mt. Coronet. This is because the player has used a cave exit into Spear Pillar, thus the game assumes they are no longer in a mountain. Therefore, the Escape Rope cannot be used to return to the outside world.
*Spear Pillar bears a resemblance to the Temporal Pinnacle, at the peak of Temporal Tower, in Mystery Dungeon 2.
*Strangely, there is no snow atop the Spear Pillar, and the rest of Mount Coronet cannot be seen.
Some Bulbapedia members have formed a project to better organise efforts to write and improve articles about moves. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page or the Bulbapedia forum and see the Bulbapedia:Project MoveDex/To-do list.
Project MoveDex
Scope and aims
Project Movedex covers all articles about moves, also known as "techniques" or "skills", that presently exist in the Pokémon universe. It encompasses all moves that exist in the Game Boy and Nintendo DS games plus any moves which are otherwise defined as legitimate outside of the Game Boy and Nintendo DS games. It does not, however, define moves that exist in the Trading Card Game, in the Anime alone, or in any other offshoots of the main franchise.
A description of the move's effect. Glaceon (Japanese: グレイシア Glacia) is an Ice Pokémon.

It evolves from Eevee via level-up on Route 217.

Biology
Physiology
Glaceon is a fox-like creature covered in light-blue fur. The fur is actually frozen into sharp quills, but one can't really tell by just looking. Glaceon appears to be wearing a Sherpa cap on its head. Glaceon's ears, two spots on its back, tail end and cap-endings are all rhombus-shaped.

Gender differences
None.

Special abilities
Glaceon can use any attack that Eevee knows with the addition of Ice attacks. As a fully evolved Pokémon, Glaceon can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact.

Behavior
Habitat
An Eevee which lives in a snowy climate will likely become a Glaceon.

Diet
In the anime
A statue of Glaceon could be seen in The Rise of Darkrai.

May returns with her own May in A Full Course Tag Battle! She later uses it to battle Dawn's Piplup in the final Wallace Cup battle in Strategy With A Smile!

A Glaceon makes a cameo in A Lean Mean Team Rocket Machine under the ownership of a Trainer bearing a strong resemblance to Pietra.

Glaceon made a small cameo in the beginning of Giratina and the Sky Warrior together with an Eevee and the other six Eeveelutions.

Trivia
*Coincidentally, Glaceon's Japanese name is the same as a certain Elite Four member's English name.
*Glaceon is tied with Jolteon for the shortest Eeveelution. Coincidentally, Leafeon, the other Eeveelution introduced in the same Generation, is one of the tallest.
*Glaceon and Espeon are the only Eeveelutions that share the Special Attack. However, Espeon has a higher Speed stat while Glaceon has a higher Defense stat.
*Glaceon is one of only four pure Ice Pokémon; the others are Snorunt, Glalie, and Regice.
**On that note, Glaceon is the only pure Ice-type Pokémon not introduced in Generation III.
*According to the Pokédex, Glaceon and Leafeon have identical footprints.
* Strangly, in Battle Revolution, Glaceon seems to control moves like blizzard with it's hair, which therefore, must be where it's power is housed.

Origin
Like most Eeveelutions, it has traits of foxes, dogs, and cats.

Name origin
Its name is derived from the French glace, meaning ice, and -eon, the traditional suffix of all Eevee evolutions.

* Strangly, in Battle Revolution Glaceon seems to control moves like blizzard with it's hair, which therefore, must be where it's power is housed.

Origin
Like most Eeveelutions, it has traits of foxes, dogs, and cats.

Name origin
Its name is derived from the French glace, meaning ice, and -eon, the traditional suffix of all Eevee evolutions.

Vacuum cut
This move is exclusive to Pokémon mystery dungeon, and will hit every pokémon in the room, but only by 16 or 17 points each time.--Arcran5 22:23, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Curse
Introduced in Generation II, Curse is a move with the ???-type.

Curse behaves differently depending on the type of the Pokémon using it; more specifically, if the Pokémon is of the Ghost, it will cut their HP in half and place a curse on the target Pokémon, while for any other type it will merely lower the Pokémon's Speed to raise Attack and Defense.

There is no actual purpose in Curse being a ???-type move besides its mysterious nature. If hacked to be of any other type, the move will still work as normal.

Shadow moves
Shadow moves are another kind of Pokémon attacks with the type ???.

In Pokémon Colosseum, Shadow Pokémon have the move Shadow Rush until they are purified. In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, more Shadow moves are introduced. Starting in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, these moves are super-effective against regular Pokémon and not very effective against other Shadow Pokémon.

???-type moves do not run exclusively off of the user's Attack or Special Attack stat, instead depending on the move. This would later be extended to moves of the rest of the types in Generation IV.

Non-Shadow moves
In every other game, ???-type offensive moves, although none exist, can be hacked in. Even with a base power of 255 (the highest that the game allows) the move will do almost no damage.

Arceus
Arceus's Multitype ability allows it to change types based on which plate it holds. Although there is no known plate that will make it a ???-type, the code for Diamond and Pearl has a sprite for ???-type Arceus. This could suggest that there may be a way to get a plate that will change Arceus into this type via a future Nintendo event, although this is unlikely as no such plate exists in the code for Diamond and Pearl.
Entei (Japanese: エンテイ Entei) is a legendary Fire Pokémon. First appearing in the Generation II games, it is one of the three legendary beasts created by Ho-Oh when the Brass Tower burned hundreds of years ago.

Entei comes with the ability Pressure, which causes the foe to use two PP instead of one each time it uses a move.

Entei does not evolve, and no Pokémon evolves into it.

Biology
Physiology
Entei is a lion-like creature covered in brown fur with a long, thick mane covering its neck. It has gray plates surrounding the cape that makes it look as if smoke is coming out of a crater on its back. Entei has white paws and black bands on its legs, It has a red face with a white plate that resembles a handlebar mustache on its face, and a three-pointed yellow crest on its forehead.

Gender differences
Entei is a genderless species.

Special abilities
Entei can shoot flames that are hotter than volcanic magma.

Behavior
Habitat
As a member of the legendary beast trio, Entei are constantly on the move with no set place to hang around in. However, it is speculated that Entei (as well as the other legendary beasts) is not a unique species because Pokédex entries state that an Entei is born every time a volcano erupts and, in Pokémon Ranger, Solana or Lunick say "Wow! An Entei!" rather than saying; "wow! Entei!"

Diet
Pokémon food

In the anime
The first appearance was in the movie Spell of the Unown, in which an illusionary Entei appeared to Molly Hale after she made a wish on the Unown.

A real Entei later appeared in the episode Entei at Your Own Risk.

In the manga
Pokémon Special
Entei was awakened by Yellow along with its two counterparts, and the three raced around Kanto and Johto looking for trainers to help them defeat the Mask of Ice to free Ho-Oh. Entei eventually pairs up with Blaine, and later Silver. In Pokémon Special, Entei's fire has a healing effect, burning away disease and evil auras. Blaine uses this fire to burn away the Mewtwo cells infecting his arm, and DJ Mary's Smeargle copies this power using Sketch.

In the TCG
Entei (TCG)

Other appearances
Super Smash Bros. Melee/Brawl
When released from a Poké Ball, Entei unleashes a volcanic Fire Spin that deals a lot of damage to any opponents that get trapped in it.

Game data
NPC appearances
* Pokémon Ranger: Gordor considers Entei to be the best and most loyal of the legendary trio. The player captures it when it is first unleashed in the Jungle Relic but it is still taken by the Go-Rock Squad, using their new Super Styler. Entei later acts as the final boss of the game.
Trivia
*Entei can be seen in the photograph above the green table in the Misthouse Lodge in Pokémon Ranger.
*Entei shares the same species name with Quilava and Typhlosion. They are all known as Volcano Pokémon.
*Entei's G/S/C shiny sprites were the ones used for all subsequent normal sprites of later generations, except for the head piece which has not changed colour since its debut.
Origin
It has aspects of several different animals, but most prominently it resembles a male lion.

Name origin
Entei's Japanese name is likely a combination of 炎天 enten, blazing heat, or just 炎 en – an alternate reading of honō – flame, and 皇帝 kōtei, emperor.
A trade is a process in which a Pokémon trainer sends one of his or her Pokémon to another trainer in exchange for one of the other trainer's Pokémon.

A trainer can trade with any person, him or herself or with trainers in the games. All a trainer needs to trade is two compatible game cartridges, two of the system it is on (Game Boys/Game Boy Colors for Generations I and II, Game Boy Advances for Generation III and DSes for Generation IV), a link cable for connecting the two systems (or a GBA Wireless Adaptor for trades between FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald) and at least one Pokémon. In Generation IV, Pokémon can also be traded via the Global Trade Station in Jubilife City.

Trading is important to getting all the Pokémon in the Pokédex, since there are some Pokémon that are not available in each version and some Pokémon that only evolve after being traded.

Trading also gives Pokémon an advantage in growth. A traded Pokémon gains boosted experience after a Pokémon battle, which allows a traded Pokémon to level up faster. Pokémon traded from outside of one's own country will gain even more experience.

Also, you can attach items to pokemon,in retrospect you can only obtain some items this way.
Despite it being one of the key aspects of the games, trading is unusually rare in the anime. Only a few trades have taken place, and only two of them thus far have been truly significant. Fans have often speculated about the reason for this.

2 for one trades
It is possible to do a two for one trade, also,by trading a pokemon holding a fossil,it is another means of giving two pokemon, also, If you were to trade Illumise in generation III, that is a way to catch a Pokémon only obtainable using

Pokémon which evolve when traded
Many of these Pokémon also require an item to be held by them at the time of trading for their evolution to take place.
Trades in other canon
In the anime
Despite it being one of the key aspects of the games, trading is unusually rare in the anime. Only a few trades have taken place, and only two of them thus far have been truly significant. Fans have often speculated about the reason for this.
* In Battle Aboard the St. Anne, Ash traded his Butterfree for a Gentleman's Raticate. He wasn't happy with the trade, however, so he traded it back by the end of the episode.
* In Tricks of the Trade, Jessie unintentionally traded her Lickitung for Benny's Wobbuffet.
* In Here's Lookin' at You, Elekid, James is forced by Jessie to trade his Victreebel for the Magikarp Salesman's Weepinbell (which later evolved into another Victreebel, and would end up being kicked away by Jessie anyway).
*In Throwing the Track Switch, Ash traded his Aipom for Dawn's Buizel.
Nurse Joy (Japanese: ジョーイ Joy) is (or are) kind nurses who take care of Pokémon. As revealed in Drifloon in the Wind!, Joy is not the first name of these women, but actually the family name. Her Japanese name is a play on 女医 joi, woman doctor. They are based on the game Nurses.

In the anime
Nurse Joy is not a single entity. Rather, there are dozens and dozens of Joys working at Pokémon Centers across the regions. Nurse Joy's voice actresses are 白石文子 Ayako Shiraishi (EP002-EP229), 山口由里子 Yuriko Yamaguchi (EP245-DP022; DP051-present), and 井上喜久子 Kikuko Inoue (DP025-DP050) in the Japanese version. They are voiced by Megan Hollingshead (4Kids dub, EP002-AG040), Bella Hudson (4Kids dub, AG042-AG144), and Michele Knotz (PUSA/DuArt dub, AG146-present) in the English version. The two young Joys from Drifloon in the Wind were voiced by 能登麻美子 Mamiko Noto (Marnie) and 日笠山亜美 Tsugimi Higasayama (Paige) in Japanese and Sonny Dey (Marnie) and Emily Jenness (Paige) in English. Nurse Joy was also played by Diane Stillwell in The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon. In Brazil, Nurse Joy is voiced by Fátima Noya.

As a rule, Nurse Joys are kind, earnest, honest Pokémon nurses who take care of sick and injured Pokémon.

They are not entirely identical, though aside from themselves, it seems that Brock is the only one who can tell them apart. However, each Nurse Joy will have a different color cross on her hat that indicates which location she works at.

Supposedly, they are all extremely similar-looking relatives - cousins, sisters, etc. However, fans have proposed various other theories has been suggested for the strange phenomenon - everything from time travel to cloning.

There are some notable Nurse Joys that are very different from the others: the muscle-bound kayak-riding Nurse Joy in the Orange Archipelago, for example. On top of that, all the Nurse Joys of the Orange Archipelago have a darker skin tone than the ones found in any other region, probably an effect of living in such sunny weather. Then, there is the Nurse Joy who led an excavation team made up of Machoke, Rhydon and archaeologists to find Kabuto fossils to revive them.

Although there are many exceptions, Nurse Joy will generally have Chansey to assist her. In fact, Chansey's evolution added in Generation II, Blissey, appears physically similar to Nurse Joy. Further driving home the connection, Blissey's Japanese name can be taken to mean "Happy Nurse".

There is a very distinct parallel between the families of Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny. This may indicate some sort of relation or deeper connection, and fans have sometimes speculated about such. However, the only thing known about the two families is that they are apparently on good terms.

In addition, Nurse Joys give out Starter Pokémon to trainers in towns or cities without Pokémon Professors. Slateport City is one such town.

Also, Nurse Joys judges pokémon contests.
Lavaridge Town (Japanese: フエンタウン Fuen Town) is a small, pretty town in central Hoenn. It is located on the southern foot of Mt. Chimney. The town's motto is "Pokémon Center Hot Springs An Excellent Place for Relaxing!"

Pokémon Trainers often come to Lavaridge Town in order to win the Heatbadge from Flannery, the Lavaridge Gym Leader who specializes in Fire-type Pokémon.

North of the town is the Jagged Pass, leading down from Mt. Chimney. East of the town is Route 112.

Places of Interest
Hot Springs
Located behind the Pokémon Center. The people draw as much hot water as they need, yet the spring never runs dry. The magma in the active volcano causes veins of water nearby to well up as hot springs. According to legend, the Lavaridge hotsprings calm tension, relieve muscle ache, solve romantic problems, and attract money. An old couple relaxing at the springs will give away a Pokémon egg containing a Wynaut. There is also an Ice Heal hidden in the water. An old woman will tell you that bringing certain types of Pokémon into the bath will cause lava baths, electric baths and such. This will not happen however.

Pokémon Herb Shop
"Bitter taste - better cure!" The Herb Shop sells four different types of herbal medicine. The herbs are extremely bitter and will cause a Pokémon's Happiness to decrease when used. An old man inside of the shop will give the player Charcoal.
Demographics
The population of Lavaridge Town is 23. This low number is probably due, in part, to Lavaridge's location high up in the mountains. It is probably based on Aso City in Mount Aso region in Kumamoto on Kyushu island given its hot spring and volcano references.

Name origin
Lavaridge comes from lava, molten rock expelled from a volcano, and ridge, a raised land formation commonly associated with volcanic activity.
